Homemade Biscuit Recipe
While this is a versatile dish, when I think of breakfast, I tend to think of cinnamon rolls and biscuits. How about you?
However, if I’m being completely honest, this is the first time I ever made homemade biscuits. Yep. Kelly the Cook (hee-hee) has never made homemade biscuits.
Bisquick drop biscuits? Yep.
Pillsbury Honey Butter Biscuits? You bet.
Homemade Butter Biscuits? Nope.
In other words, sad. Right? Yep (insert facepalm).
So, when a friend shared this recipe on Facebook, it seemed easy enough that I should give it a try. Guess what? In short, it was a success. There was certainly no exaggeration as to how easy they were to make either.
These oh so buttery pan-style biscuits are super delicious and did I mention extremely easy to make? Let’s get cooking, shall we?

Homemade Buttermilk Biscuits
Ingredients:
All-purpose flour
Buttermilk
Butter
Baking powder
Sugar
Salt
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 450 degrees.
- Combine all of the dry ingredients in a bowl. After that, add the buttermilk and mix until a moist dough is formed.
- Melt the butter in a bowl and pour it into an 8×8 or 9×9 baking dish.
- Place the dough right on top of the melted butter and spread it out evenly, making sure it touches the sides.
- Cut the unbaked dough (which should be swimming in butter at this point) into 9 evenish squares.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown on top.
- Serve with butter, jam, sausage gravy, or even soup.
These homemade biscuits make a great option for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. I enjoyed mine for breakfast with grape jelly. Also, Steve and I made breakfast sandwiches with them one morning. Oh my goodness, so good.
