We’ve officially welcomed in the New Year! Now it’s time to set some New Year’s Resolutions, right? Well, if losing weight is one of yours — you might want to pin this recipe with your eyes closed {giggle}. Why? Well, we have a little dessert action going on today! You might remember not too long ago, I shared a French Vanilla Dream Bar recipe, it was the first time I substituted flavored creamer for milk and I was pleasantly surprised how good it was!
Today I thought I’d share a Vanilla Sweet Cream Pound Cake recipe where I used Sweet Cream flavored creamer. Oh friends, the cake was perfectly moist and a real treat! A wonderful dessert to plan for breakfast or brunch, as it’s a real crowd-pleaser.
Vanilla Sweet Cream Pound Cake
Ingredients
- 1 cup margarine
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 3 cups sugar divided
- 5 eggs
- 4 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 3 cups flour divided
- 3/4 cup Coffee Mate Sweet Cream Coffee Creamer
- 1/4 cup water
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
- Grease and flour a bundt cake pan or tube pan.
- Cream together margarine and shortening.
- Add 1/4 cup of the sugar and stir; add one egg and stir again.
- Repeat this process until the remaining sugar and eggs are stirred into the creamed mixture.
- Mix in extracts, salt and baking powder; add 3/4 cup of the flour.
- Continue to mix, adding creamer and water alternately with remaining flour.
- Pour into prepared pan and bake for one hour at 325 degrees.
- Reduce heat to 300 degrees and bake for 15-20 minutes.
- Cool completely. Invert onto serving plate.
I bet this would work with some of your favorite flavored creamers as well! Maybe Mocha or Hazelnut? Oooo. Yum! Do you have a favorite pound cake recipe? I also love-love-love Almond Pound Cake! I used to sell Tastefully Simple and became a wee-bit addicted to it! So, tell me, what is your favorite kind of pound cake? Tell me in the comments below!
Happy baking, sweet friends!

Guess only kind of pound cake I’ve ever eaten was just plain, plain old. Never have used any of the flavored creamers for coffee, hohum, boring. Your recipe sure sounds delicious yummmmmy.
I’ve been eating too many cakes from bargain rack at our City Mkt. lately, seem to crave the frosting, really good for me right? Happy weekend Kelly

Pound cake is my absolute favorite… and I generally eat almost all of it if we don’t have guests over, since my husband’s not a big fan. This recipe looks delish, Kelly.
