botanical and moody art

Happy hellos from a very steamy Missouri. Send help, we’re melting. Haha! I hope you’re staying nice and cool. Let’s do a little catching up, shall we?

Miscellany:

1. This week, I had my annual check-up with my primary doctor. I needed to refill my kidney stone medicines, along with a couple of other prescriptions. Overall, the appointment went well.

I was disappointed to hear my cholesterol is still high. She mentioned going on statins might not be a bad idea, but I think I’m going to try a supplement first (my mom takes them too). I’ll try it for a couple of months, then have some more blood drawn to see if it’s effective.

Diet and Exercise are already a BIG part of my lifestyle, so I’m praying I can get it down.

2. On Wednesday, I had lunch at a new Mexican place (to me) with old friends. I decided to go ahead and eat my favorite dish, Chicken Chimichanga. The lunch portion was perfect and delicious. It was nice to catch up, laugh, and laugh some more.

3. I pushed myself to walk a little more this week. I did have to step back from lifting a bit due to arthritis in my shoulders. However, I’m trying to do some exercises with lighter weights at home.

I lost 1.5 pounds this week, bringing me to 23.8 since the end of January. I’m tickled silly with my progress.

4. Did you see the delicious goodness I shared earlier this week? Caprese Stuffed Avocados for the win, friend.

5. Ulta had a BIG summer sale, so I stocked up on some faves and decided to try a few things that weren’t necessarily on sale.

  • True Match Lumi Glotion Natural Glow Bronzing Enhancer
  • No Frizz Vanishing Smooth Hair Oil
  • Body Mist by Vacation (New for me, smells so good)
  • Butter Gloss Non-Sticky Lip Gloss

6. Last night, we grabbed a few gallons of ice cream and some waffle cones from Braums, then headed to my parents for a cold treat and a little laughter.

We picked up Rocky Road, Peanut Butter Cup, and Butter Pecan. Yum. I’m a peanut butter fanatic. I spread Peanut Butter in my waffle cone before adding the Peanut Butter Cup ice cream. Yum!

7. What I’ve watched/I’m watching…

  • The Summer I Turned Pretty (Prime Video)
  • Shiny Happy People, Season 2 (Prime Video)
  • Dexter: Resurrection (Showtime, we’ve been big fans of the series)
  • Amy Bradley is Missing (Netflix Documentary) — excellent!

8. Would you believe that Winter Bucket Lists are trending on Pinterest right now? I think it’s due to the extreme heat that most of us are experiencing.

Who’s ready for crisp Autumn leaves and sweater weather? ME!!! 🙋🏼‍♀️
