Hello-hello! Today will be a beautiful 60-degree day with sunshine, and I’m here for it! Woop woop.
Well, this week wasn’t ideal for me. In one word, I’d say it sucked. Let me explain…
Miscellany:
1. Last weekend went pretty well. We got our taxes done and had some great fellowship with friends. Church was a blessing, per usual. Honestly, you’d think that would be the start of a great week.
I can’t pinpoint when, but I started to have incredible pain in my upper legs again. It’s been off and on, maybe a couple of weeks now, but I was blowing it off from wearing crappy shoes that were causing the pain, etc.
On Monday, I ended up in tears. The pain was unbearable; I felt like I hadn’t slept, and I was very discouraged. It took me back to my endometriosis days, friends. Sigh.
So, I did a little digging and reached out to my hormone therapist. I’m on a low dose of Estradiol, which is associated with endometriosis. She (my hormone therapist) doesn’t think that would have any impact on or cause a flare in endometriosis.
I’ll see my OBGYN in September and possibly talk with him. However, research seems to say that only 2-4% of women in menopause have trouble with endometriosis.
I feel overwhelmed, confused, and frustrated. Will I be understood and heard? I don’t know. Lately, I have felt I must fight for myself and my body. Why is that?
Do you happen to have any experience or insight?
2. So, when I feel poopy, I eat my emotions. On Monday, we got Chick-fil-A for dinner, and I got a Peanut Butter Sundae (with extra peanut butter) for dessert from Andy’s. I had no regrets. Haha.
I did pretty well the rest of the week (sort of). Thursday got a little hairy, too… keep reading…
3. Thursdays are usually about tackling all the random things that didn’t get done on the blog, Seint, my online class, etc. I had also decided to run into town and do a few returns before a big storm was supposed to blow in.
Errands were run (forgetting it was Spring Break… the mall was a zoo), and it started to get REALLY dark outside shortly after returning home. The tornado sirens went off, so we went into our master closet. Side Note: We started wearing our bike helmets in the closet. Our family knows of someone who was hit in the head with debris during a tornado and died. Not today, Satan.
Anywho, I think we were in there for about 10 minutes, and a loud boom scared me to death. We lost power and sat quietly in the dark for another 10 minutes… waiting for the sirens to stop.
When the sirens stopped (around 4:10 p.m.), Steve headed to the front door to evaluate. There was a thick fog, which we soon realized was smoke. We thought it was the house across the street, so we quickly got into our car and drove outside the neighborhood in case of an explosion due to gas.
While leaving, we noticed it wasn’t the house across the street but the house behind them — it had been struck by lightning. The roof was set ablaze. My heart sank. A family of 5 lost their home and their belongings. Thankfully, no one was injured, and their pets were safe, too.
Let me tell you, my nerves were SHOT! That hit a little too close to home for me. We didn’t get our power back until around 6:30 p.m. I was thanking the Lord for his protection.
While the power was out, we drove into town and got pizza (it was Pi Day). And I ended the day with another Peanut Butter Sundae (with extra peanut butter). 🫣
4. The Handcrafted Society Collaboration for March went up this past week. If you missed the post, check it out: DIY Spring Wreath.

- Did I tell you we got a new Black Sink Faucet and Garbage Disposal Button for our Kitchen?
- This pink shirt is the Bee’s Knees – great for layering and priced right!
- This T-shirt Dress in Grey Stripes (looks so cute with a jean jacket).
- And this Cross-Body Bag in Bedrock Beige.
6. I’m going to share a little bit more about my Seint makeup soon. Are you familiar with it? It has truly revolutionized my makeup routine and boosted my confidence.
My sun damage is showing now, and I can’t wear foundation. It feels like a cracking mask on me. Seint’s cream makeup feels like my own skin, is moisturizing, and covers up a multitude of imperfections—giving me some extra confidence.
7. Weight Watchers update. I did not lose or gain this week, which was a small victory in the big picture. I maintained, and I’ll take it. A new week of possibilities awaits…

OMG! Kelly, what a week! I’m so sorry you were dealing with all that. I hope you are feeling better by now. Wish I could help you with insight into the whole endometriosis. Or honestly, I’m grateful I’ve never had that.
