Salmon with Cream Sauce

A pan-seared salmon cooked in a delicious, zesty herb sauce.  This Salmon with Cream Sauce recipe is certainly a perfect option for healthy and indulgent dinner for you and the family.

It’s crispy on the outside and tender inside. Therefore, using the same pan used to cook the salmon for the sauce allows all the delicious salmon flavors to incorporate into it.

Creamy Salmon

Honestly, I’m not a huge fan of seafood.  However, if I am going to eat it — salmon makes the cut.  The seafood list is short, salmon, tilapia, fried cod, and fried popcorn shrimp.  Of course, I eat tuna, but that is when it’s coming from a can and it’s usually mixed with mayonnaise.  Heehee.

And if I’m going to eat salmon, I usually need a big side of tartar sauce or mayonnaise.  But, this salmon recipe comes with a sauce, so I’m able to put the tartar sauce away.

So, how about you?  Are you a fan of seafood?  What’s your favorite seafood dish?

If you happen to be a seafood foodie, then this Salmon with Cream Sauce might make a great addition to your meal planning.

Salmon with Cream Sauce

Do you season salmon before cooking?

Salmon is a flavorful fish and can be simply seasoned with salt and pepper.  However, other herbs that can be used for seasoning salmon include fresh dill, parsley, garlic, and chives are especially tasty with fish. Basic, rosemary, and tarragon are also widely used options.

Check out my teaser video:

How to Make Creamy Salmon

Ingredients:
Salmon filets
Salt and pepper, to taste
Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Onion, chopped
Garlic
Half and Half
Thyme
Lemon juice
Parsley, chopped

Instructions:

Heat the olive oil in a large pan over medium heat.

Season the salmon with salt and pepper and place in pan, skin side down.

Cook for 3 minutes, carefully turning the filet over. Cook for an additional 3 minutes or until slightly golden.

Transfer the filets from the pan to a plate and cover.

Add the onion to the same pan you used to cook the salmon and sauté until tender and transparent. Add the garlic clove and thyme and sauté. Pour the Half and Half into the pan and bring to a simmer.

After that, transfer the salmon back to the pan, spooning the sauce over the filets.

Remove from the burner, stir in the lemon juice, and top with chopped parsley.

Pair with a delicious and easy side dish, like sautéed vegetables (see below) — and dinner is served.
