Banana Pudding Shots
Oh, my yummy goodness. Banana Pudding Shots! Got a sweet tooth? Do you love desserts as much as I do? If there’s one thing I have, it’s a sweet tooth.
Whether it’s chocolate, ice cream, cookies, pie — I have a liking for all things sweet. Guess what that means? I love dessert — like really love it.
What about bananas? Well, if you like desserts and bananas, these Banana Pudding Shots might be something to add to your menu.
I don’t know about you, but when entertaining, I like to end the meal with a yummy bang. Dessert is as equally important as the main meal {giggle}. So, with just a few easy steps, these are a perfect size and tasty treat for your next social event or family dinner! They are delicious and the perfect single-serving portion for a dessert bar, Open House, etc.
I recently stumbled across this in a magazine and had to make them. If you’ve never had one of these, I’m afraid that you’re missing out! Let’s get started, so we can eat them all up {smile}.
Banana Pudding Shots
Ingredients
- 1 box 4-serving size vanilla pudding and pie filling mix (not instant)
- 2 cups half-and-half
- 1-1/2 teaspoons vanilla
- 1-1/4 cups frozen-thawed whipped topping
- 48 miniature vanilla wafer cookies
- 2 small bananas, thinly sliced
- 10 miniature vanilla wafer cookies, coarsely crushed
Instructions
- In 2-quart saucepan, stir pudding mix and half-and-half. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until thickened. Stir in vanilla. Remove from heat; pour into medium bowl. Cover; refrigerate about 1 hour or until chilled.
- Spoon pudding into a 1-gallon resealable food-storage plastic bag; seal bag. Spoon whipped topping into 1-quart resealable food-storage plastic bag; seal bag. Cut 1/8-inch opening diagonally across the bottom corner of each bag.
- In the bottom of each of the 24 (2-oz) shot glasses, place 1 cookie. In each glass, pipe about 2 teaspoons pudding over the cookie. Top with 1 banana slice. Pipe about 2 teaspoons whipped topping over the banana.

Thanks so much, Julie. Easy and yummy 🙂 Have a great day.
Lindsay says
How far in advance can these be made?
Jelli says
Yes, please! What’s better than a fast summer sweet fix? I love making homemade puddings, but nothing beats those childhood memories of Jello pudding…especially mixed with Cool Whip, poured into cups with a popsicle stick to turn into freezer pops. Thanks for sharing, Kelly.
Kelly says
Thanks for leaving some comment love, Jelli! Have a lovely week.

Leslie says
Sounds like a fun idea! I’m not a fan of vanilla pudding, but I bet these would be fantastic with chocolate pudding! (sounds like something I may need to do!)
Kelly says
Hey Leslie! Actually, the vanilla pudding with the half-n-half and vanilla tastes more like a custard. It soooo good. xo
Stephen says
Yes, they are very good. It’s a shame they are only 2oz. LOL
Kelly says
Awww… 43, gooms! Portion control, something I desperately need 🙂
Kimberly from Serendipity. says
Lethal….and YUMMY! and so adorable in those little, tiny glasses. I assume that those are meant for portion control of some sort? The guilt of eating 6 or so in one sitting is supposed to make it so that I don’t eat 40,000 calories worth before realizing that I’ve made my way through my calorie count for the next 5.3 days? I love it and thank you! There’s now a much better chance that I’ll actually stop myself after one than if I just made it in a bowl and absentmindedly sat down some late night and finished 1/2 of it. Yikes!!!!! Seriously, they look delish and I’m making some of these cuties!
Kelly says
Yes. Portion control is a always helpful; however, I don’t think I ever ate just one {rut-row). 😉
Jo-Ann says

Kim S says
Have always loved banana pudding, my daughter and I made it on the blog not too long ago! Just curious as to why you do not reccomend instant? Do you find the pie filling type thicker? Thanks for sharing at tip toe thru tuesday!
Kelly says
Hi Kim! Sorry for such a late response… instant won’t work as well because of adding the creamer and adding the vanilla… it makes it more like a custard than a pudding 🙂
amy says
These are adorable and of course a favorite here in the South! Thanks for the sweet idea Kelly.

looks amazing! Hoping to have this at my sons 1st birthday party! where can I buy the wooden spoons or do I have to get them online?
Kelly says
YAY! Sounds like a yummy idea 😉 I bought mine on-line through Pick Your Plum, but I’m certain you could find them on Etsy as well. Good luck!!
Dutchie says
Seems to be a US only recipe, but I will be able to find substitutes for all ingredients, well I have to really, we don’t have frozen whipped toppings at all, so freshly whipped cream it will have to be :)… there is just one thing: what do you call half-and-half? Here half-and-half is white wine mixed with champagne, but that would make it a sorbet (could be very nice too by the way) and it doesn’t look like that in the picture. So it presumably is something else? Hope to hear from you soon!
Kelly Rowe says
Half and Half is a creamer. You could probably use a whipping cream as a replacement 🙂 Thanks so much for stopping by!
Janae says
How many does the banana pudding shooters recipes serves?
Kelly Rowe says
Hi Janae 🙂 Thanks for stopping by. This recipe will make 24 pudding shots (see Step #3). Cheers!
Janet Miller says
I would like the orange shots
Jan says
Is it better to make these closer to when you will serve them or can you make them in advance Making for a Bunco party. Just the right amount after dinner!
Kelly Rowe says
Hi Jan. I would make them closer to the event. You can prep the pudding mix ahead of time and assemble day of event. You just don’t want the banana to brown and the cookie to soften or get soggy — that’s no fun. Enjoy!
