September always feels like a little in-between season to me — summer hasn’t completely let go, but you can feel fall quietly making its way in. Cooler mornings, apples, candlelight, cozy textures… just little hints of what’s to come. Eeks. So exciting! Now, let’s catch up.
Miscellany:
1. It was a very quiet and uneventful week around the Rowe home this week. Other than work, I spent a lot of time learning how to use my new Cricut Maker. YAY! Stay tuned.
2. Pinterest just released its 2026 Hobbies Trend Report, and apparently there’s a big shift toward more screen-free, hands-on hobbies — things like crafting, watercolor, pressed flowers, baking, collecting, and little DIY projects.
Apparently Pinterest has officially confirmed what I already knew: collecting hobbies is practically a hobby itself. 😂 Call me the hobby collector. Ha!
3. Earlier this week, I rounded up a bunch of DIY Projects for the Weekend that are perfect for when the creative itch strikes. Some are quick and easy, while others might keep you happily busy for an afternoon.
4. A September reset. I recently read an article about treating September almost like a mini January — clearing clutter, getting routines back in order, finishing little projects and resetting before the craziness of the holidays starts.
Does anyone else feel like September is a second New Year? Suddenly I want to clean a closet, organize my work room and get my life together. Whether I actually DO any of that remains to be seen. 😆
5. What little thing(s) are you looking forward to this fall? New TV shows? Cooler walks? Soup? Football? Opening the windows? A craft project?
For me, I’m super excited for:
- Cooler weather (yes, please).
- Cozy sweatshirts and sweaters!
- Bonfires on the back patio.
- Seasonal markets.
- All-things pumpkin and apple.
- Watching some of my favorite Fall Movies.
6. Our dogs love taking rides in the car — whether it’s for errand running or a late-night treat at Andy’s. Recently, we talked about getting something to cover the doors so there would be less slipping and sliding, while also keeping them from getting scratched to bits.
We decided to give these door protectors a try, and everyone was tickled pink — yes, even the dogs. There was a lot of curiosity at first, followed by a whole lot of wind in their faces and complete contentment. Yay!!
7. Some things that I’ve been leaning into that instantly make a house feel cozy as we roll into the fall season. Lamp light instead of overhead lights. A candle burning. Fresh sheets. Something simmering on the stove. A dog asleep nearby. An open window on a cool morning. What about you?
Speaking of lamps, this rechargeable lamp has added so much coziness to our home at night. I move it between the hallway and the kitchen counter, and I’m seriously obsessed with it.
8.Gilmore Girls Era. If you start watching Gilmore Girls on September 22nd and watch four episodes a week, autumn feels like autumn, Christmas lands in December, and spring arrives in spring. So you get to experience Stars Hollow through the seasons exactly how it was meant to be. Let’s do it!

One Last Hoorah:
Robert Frost once said, “In three words I can sum up everything I’ve learned about life: it goes on.” There’s something both simple and powerful about that. Life keeps moving — through the good seasons, the hard ones, the unexpected turns, and all the ordinary days in between.
Sometimes resilience doesn’t look like doing something big or brave. Sometimes it simply looks like getting up, putting one foot in front of the other, and trusting that tomorrow is a new day. We may not always get to choose what happens, but we can choose to keep going, keep hoping, and keep believing that there are still good things ahead.
Here’s to a little grace for where you’ve been, strength for where you are, and hope for whatever comes next. ❤️
