dried florals in a glass vase on books.

Happy hellos from a sunny Rogersville, MO. I’m so happy you’re here.

Ya know, sometimes beauty doesn’t need to be loud to make itself known. A simple vase of dried hydrangeas, stacked on a few worn books, reminds me that the quiet corners often hold the most charm. I’ve been enjoying the simplicity of many things lately, such as playing albums on our record player and burning candles at night.

Miscellany:

1. It was a lot of the same this week — gym, work, coffee meet-ups, and errand running. I can honestly say this week seemed to kick my butt a bit more than usual. I’m yawning as I type. Haha.

2. The dogs tried out a new doggy daycare this week, called Hounds Town. Our local franchise in Springfield is offering a free week. We thought we’d give it a try. I’m not sure if the dogs love it as much as Bark Yard, but we’ll do a couple more days next week and see. Worst-case scenario? Hounds Town will be our backup doggy daycare.

Their hours are insane, from 6 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Bark Yard’s hours are 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

If I’m being honest, they come home a little stinky from the new place. I have a highly sensitive sense of smell, so that could be a deal breaker. Like I said, we’ll see. They only go once a week, and sometimes I’m not sure why we even bother with it now that we have a doggy door.

First-world problems, I know.

3. With the cooler weather rolling in, it’s time to start thinking about some seasonal sweets. How about Orange Spiced Baked Donuts? I shared the recipe earlier this week. Give it a try and let me know your thoughts.

4. Crafting is on my radar, friends. I purchased a variety of craft supplies this week, including felt, acrylic paint, air clay, pipe cleaners, magnets, and more.

I’m kind of excited to see how everything turns out. They’re not brand-new ideas, but I enjoy sharing my crafts with you. They may be new to you, right?

If you have any requests for a craft or project, please don’t hesitate to let me know.

5. Did you see the Tiny Vinyls being released exclusively at Target? At first, I thought, “How cute?!?”

Then I saw it was TWO songs for $14.99. Ummm, no thanks. What do you think?

6. Oh Christmas Tree! Have I ever mentioned that I have far too many Christmas trees? Goodness gracious.

Some were purchased, and some were gifted to me. Nevertheless, I’ve been trying to downsize on trees this fall. I’m selling a couple, and boy oh boy — some of these women are a little too particular.

As a blogger, I thought I was a little particular about some things. I was giving that idea second thoughts this week.

One lady asked to come back her garland to ensure it matched. In my opinion, there’s nothing wrong with different shades of green. Call me crazy.

And this is why I like garage sales. Facebook Marketplace is hit or miss, and sometimes it’s a lot more work than it’s worth.

Spoiler: The tree still hasn’t sold. Maybe today will be the day.

7. I still haven’t decorated for fall. I’m sorry, but the 80º weather just doesn’t feel like fall. Sigh. I know I need to pull a few things out. I am burning fall candles, does that count?

While running errands this week, I came across this bamboo-woven pumpkin and had to have it. Plus, the price was right! So cute.

8. What I’m Watching or Watched:

  • The Terminal List: Dark Wolf (Prime Video) — EXCELLENT! There’s language and some blood/gore, but that’s expected with this type of show.
  • Project Runway (Hulu) wrapped up this past week, and I was so disappointed with the winner. My favorite designer was Jesus. He and his twin were both on this season; they were quite entertaining. As a twin, I enjoyed watching them. However, I would never want to be in a competition with my sister (unless we were a team).
  • Black Rabbit (Netflix) — 7/10. I liked it, but… I don’t know. I found some aspects of the series to be very good, while others seemed a little over the top.

Here are a few of my recent favorite purchases.

9. Aerie is one of my favorite stores due to all the comfy, cozy clothes they sell. I’m always in a comfy mindset. Haha. Anyway, I wanted to share that from September 26th to 29th, you can save an additional 20% (in addition to current sales) using the promo code LTKFALLSALE at checkout. Booyah.

Here are few of my recent faves:

  • Oh Snap! Sweatshirt is a favorite of mine. I have three colors. (Size Down).
  • Lace Vintage Shirt in White will look great under one of the sweatshirts. (TTS).
  • Fleece Cardigan is the chef’s kiss! (TTS)
