“Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.” – Martin Luther King, Jr.

Miscellany:

1. It was a quieter week on the home front. I had a hair appointment on Monday, and the rest of the week seems to be a blur — primarily work.

2. In May, I started spray tanning, and at the end of June, I decided to try self-tanning at home again. I’ve done it in the past, and I’m only looking for a bit of color. Last year, I bought a trial-size tanning foam from Pink Lily. I liked the product because it has a bit more of an olive skin tone color.

So, I’m using their tanning foam and tanning drops (mainly for my face). It’s saving me money on spray tanning ($60/mo) and the 20 minutes to and from town. Winning.

This tanning sleep sac might be in my near future. Lol.

3. I’ll be heading to a work conference soon for Celesty. Thank goodness I have a friend going because I won’t know anyone. I registered in faith. I know I’m a social gal; however, I’m officially 50 and in menopause. Therefore, my personality has shifted to being more of a homebody these days. Haha.

I’m excited that I’m going and stepping outside of my current comfort zone. There will be one formal gala. I gulped at the thought of having to get a dress for my overweight body. However, I found one in my first round of try-ons. Can you believe it?

This black cocktail dress was my pick (and the hubby approved too). What do you think?

4. The shooting at the Trump Rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, was such a sad and unnecessary situation. Innocent people were wounded, and one, Corey Comperatore, died. I was surprised to hear that my cousin went to high school with Corey and his wife. My heart grieves for the family and the senseless act that took place.

We must pray for our country. The political divide must stop.

5. Ohsnap! Steve and I each got one of the Ohsnap phone grips to try a few weeks ago. I was skeptical because it’s a pretty versatile and functional grip. If you’re on the hunt for a new phone grip — check them out.

6. This week I shared this Concrete DIY Tray for the Handcrafted Society collaboration. Be sure to check it out.

7. Blooms and Roots | Encouragement an encouraging read from Marian at Miss Mustard Seed.
