I’m sharing this fun tutorial on how to make tea bags in collaboration with Lyfe Tea. All opinions are my own.
Tea Lovers Rejoice! I have a super fun tutorial for you on how to make tea bags — your very own tea bags! Yes, I know it’s not necessarily a new concept, but these are super duper easy! Keep reading…
With Thanksgiving just days away and Christmas right around the corner, I can’t help but take some time to reflect on all that I have to be thankful for and how some are not so fortunate. I’ve teamed up with Lyfe Tea today to share with you a fun project, but to also spread the word about how they’ve partnered with Second Harvest Food Bank this year to help provide meals to those in need this holiday season. For every purchase, Lyfe Tea will donate $1 to Second Harvest Food Bank. Isn’t that awesome? Their goal is 40,000 meals!
Here’s a fun DIY using their tea — with a daily reminder to reflect on what “lyfe is..”
Supplies:
Heat Seal Tea Bags
Lyfe Tea (Morning or Evening Detox Tea)
Tablespoon
Iron or Curling Iron
String
Stapler
“Lyfe Is…” tea tags
Step One:
Print and cut the “Lyfe Is…” tea tags. Print or Save Tea Tags.

Step Two:
Fill heat seal tea bags according to directions on tea package, which is 1 tablespoon.
Step Three:
Seal tea bags using iron or curling iron.
Step Four:
Attach tea tag and string. It was a bit challenging to capture this on camera, so I took a close-up shot (see below) of the tag and tea bag. What I did was cut a 6″ piece of string and tie small knots on each end, then staple one end to the tag and the other to the tea bag.
Aaaand that’s it! Place in a tea tin or gift in a gift box!
Be sure to visit with Lyfe Tea to learn more about the product and all of its benefits! Also be sure to keep in mind the Second Harvest Food Bank that is helping to provide meals to those in need this holiday season. For every purchase, Lyfe Tea will donate $1 to Second Harvest Food Bank. Let’s spread a little extra holiday cheer, shall we?

Sabrina says
Since this is a DIY, might as well go eco-friendly and hand sew the string instead of using staples and use glue on the tag
Cindy says
Thank you for this suggestion! I love the idea of making my own tea bags for personal use as well as gifts but I donβt like the idea of stapling the tags.
This is a great alternative!
Thank you
Cindy
Kelly Rowe says
Hi Cindy. Thanks for stopping by! You can certainly opt out of adding the string/tags and remove the tea bag with a spoon π Enjoy!
JoAnn K says
Iβve made many of these over the years and suggest skipping staples as Sabrina suggested. Just insert about one inch of the end of string inside the bag and seal it with the iron. It works great. I also punch a small hole in the tag and run the other end of the string through it and then tie off with a knot. No need for metal in your tea!
Angela says
Heat and seal bags are made of plastic…not something I want steeping in my just boiled water to make tea. I use unbleached coffee filters to make my tea bags.
Debby says
I agree. Donβt like the idea of glue steeping in my tea.
Judith says
I like to compost my tea bags after I use them. It would be great if there was another way to attach the tag and string without staples. Some tea companies have figured out how to tie them.
Suzanne says
This looks so good! What a fun gift to make for friends or to enjoy yourself!
Vanessa says
Thanks for sharing! Does it keep long?
