Hello from my cold little corner of the world. I’m enjoying the chilly temps, sweatshirts, chapstick and more. How about you?

Now that Thanksgiving is over… it’s time to turn our attention to all things Christmas.

Miscellany:

1. BUT first, how was your Thanksgiving? As I’ve mentioned before, I hosted this year. If I’m being candid, I wasn’t feeling it this year. I think I was just tired and stressed. It’s been an insane five weeks since the foster pup came to our home.

However, I took a few moments before the festivities to give thanks for all that we have: jobs, a roof over our heads, a loving marriage, family, a refrigerator full of food, heat, clothing, my salvation, cold weather (yay), cars, my readers, and more.

2. It’s been quiet around here the past couple of weeks. However, I did post something not too long ago—these Rolo Pretzel Sandwiches. If you missed it, be sure to check them out!

3. Charger got neutered. Thankfully, his incision healed nicely within one week. Hallelujah!

In other news regarding our foster pup, a family was chosen to adopt him. I’ve chatted with the wife a couple of different times on Facebook. We’ve scheduled a meet-up for Sunday, December 8th. It will be a happy and sad day, for sure. Gulp.

While puppies are a lot of work, they bring fun, laughs, and life back into the home. We will miss the little stinker. I can’t figure out how Nash feels. Charger loves to nibble on Nash’s legs and ears — I told Steve it’s like he’s getting FREE acupuncture. 😂

4. Steve and I celebrated our 16th wedding anniversary last week. It’s so insane how quickly the time has flown by. We’ve been together for nineteen years.

We debated whether to go out for a nice dinner or order some sushi to eat at home. Sushi won—and it didn’t disappoint.

Here’s a random fun fact for you guys: A lot of our historical moments occurred in November: our first date, our engagement, our wedding, and when we closed on our home here in the Springfield area. I love November.

5. This article was an interesting read. Why should you stop saying I’ll be happy when…
You know what? Joy starts right where you are!

6. Have I mentioned that I’m on the fence about continuing my hormone replacement therapy for menopause? I had my annual pap a few weeks ago and had a long conversation with my doctor. I’m so torn.

I learned that if and when I decide to discontinue the hormone replacement therapy, I have to go off all meds for 4 to 6 weeks before I can have bloodwork done for my doctor. My doctor so graciously reminded me I may feel a lot more symptoms again. Yikes.

So, I’ve decided to proceed with my quarterly lab work and do another round of the meds. The labs are getting harder and harder. They can’t seem to find veins, and I get to sport a few too many bruises.

7. I have a couple of new posts in the works. This week, I worked on a Christmas craft for the kiddos. Plus, I’ll be sharing a spectacular Wreath Charcuterie! Stay tuned!

8. If you’re a makeup lover or will be shopping for someone who is, check out Seint’s Black Friday Sale (through December 3rd). You can save up to 50% on select products, including eyeshadows.

Our eyeshadows are 50% off and highly pigmented, making them some of the best out there (and I used to be a MAC snob, so that says something). I’m happy to help or answer any questions. Mmmmkay?

Have you tried Black Cohash instead of replacement meds?
This is what I used for a year when I was going thru natural menopause. Eliminated the night sweats etc.
    My OBGYN was impressed!

Hi Carole! I appreciate your comment and suggestion. I’ve been taking Black Cohosh for awhile. Thankfully I haven’t had a lot of night sweats.
