Let’s take a quick stroll down memory lane. In October of last year, when I was in Vermont for my brothers wedding — we went to the Vermont Country Store (click here to see pics). In that post, I mentioned the penny candy. I bought a few pieces and asked my sis to snap a couple of pics for me. Obviously, it took a little longer than planned to get to this post, but that’s okay. The memories certainly haven’t changed. Isn’t it amazing how such simple things can embrace such fond memories? Here are just a few captured by the lens, but we mustn’t forget the Bazooka Bubble Gum that was wrapped in comic strips, Cow Tales, Mary Janes, Candy Buttons, Boston Baked Beans, Nerds, Pixy Stix and, well, the list goes on. I still occasionally buy Cow Tales and I love me some Boston Baked Beans. I remember at kids camp going to buy all the penny candy and gleefully walking away with my little brown bag of goodies. And when I was growing up in Bath, NY all of the roller skating events at Family Life Ministries. If I close my eyes and let my mind wander, I can see myself standing there in front of that snack bar sporting those fashionable roller skates while the loud music and teens echoed in the background as I purchased one of many Cow Tales.
So, here’s to good times and ‘sweet’ memories! And here’s to a new blog label “Nostalgic Notes” so we can revisit the former again and again…
