Years ago (probably 5-6 to be more precise), I was working at a nursing school as the Director of Admissions.  There were some pretty great people at that organization and every so often we would all meet up for happy hour or dinner to celebrate someone or something.  On one occasion, I was introduced to the Amaretto Sour.  Oh my goodness… so good, you just can’t drink one!

Thanks to my friend, Debbie, I’ve been hooked ever since. However, the hubs and I finally decided to start making them at home too.  Good for the wallet, bad for the calories {hee-hee}.  So, I thought I would share what we’ve found to really suit our tastebuds.

An all-time favorite of mine, the Amaretto Sour. www.livelaughrowe.com

An all-time favorite mixed drink, the Amaretto Sour is a classic that will having you ask for a second round!

 An all-time favorite of mine, the Amaretto Sour.  www.livelaughrowe.comSometimes I even like to add a little bit of the maraschino cherry juice to mine!  These are just so delicious.  Have you tried one before?  Do you do anything differently to yours?  Cheers to mixed drinks that can be served anytime because it’s 5 o’clock somewhere! {wink}

Check out this delicious-ness too!  The Hugo Cocktail.

    I adore Amaretto, but I’m usually just added a slosh to one of my desserts 😉 I think an Amaretto sour is the perfect new summer cocktail for me!!!

    GAH. I love Amaretto Sours. I make a sour with lemon, lime and simple syrup… but, it is basically the same. I tell everyone I know that a great Amaretto Sour tastes like a good makeout session. Just sort of sits on your lips that way. 🙂

    Kelly, I’ve never tried this drink, but just gazing at your photos of it show me I need to…once this baby’s born 😉 Gorgeous pics and a yummy-sounding (simple!) recipe I could totally make in seconds. Gotta love that when you’re entertaining.
