Not too long ago I happened to see a homemade raspberry vinegar recipe on pinterest and thought that might be a fun post to do around Valentine’s Day — sweet, pink and you can bottle it up all pretty. Right? So, that’s exactly what I decided to do and I’m thrilled to be sharing it with you today. An easy raspberry vinegar recipe and after you’ve made it, you can print a label for gifting to your friends and family.
Homemade Raspberry Vinegar
Ingredients
- 2 cups fresh raspberries
- 3-3/4 cups red wine vinegar
Instructions
- Rinse raspberries and pat dry
- Place raspberries in a 1 quart ball jar
- Pour vinegar into jar, covering the raspberries completely
- Place lid tightly on the jar
- Store in your pantry for 2 weeks
- After two weeks, strain the liquid into air tight bottles of choice
- Discard the raspberries
Notes
For the record, I know that I simplified the process quite a bit from some of the other raspberry vinegar recipes I’ve seen on-line. However, you should always do what works best for you! So, that’s what I did.
- I used a 2 quart mason jar instead of a 1 quart mason jar. Substitutions are acceptable {wink}.
- I used red wine vinegar instead of white wine vinegar and it turned out incredible!
- I didn’t use a cheese cloth or mesh strainer, instead, I carefully strained the liquid through a collapsible funnel. It worked perfectly, and for the one or two raspberries that tried to sneak into the bottles — well, they wouldn’t fit! {giggle}
This really is a super easy recipe for you to make and I’m tickled silly as to what a perfect presentation they make for gift giving too!
I used 8.5 oz Square Swing Top Glass Bottles that I purchased at The Container Store. I was able to fill the three bottles and had a little left to spare so I could whip up a yummy salad dressing. To ensure I didn’t forget the 2 week deadline, I made a note on my kitchen chalkboard so I had a frequent reminder as to when I’d be able to bottle it up.
Once you’v made your raspberry vinegar and it’s bottled up, you’re done! However, if you’d like to add a label to pretty up the bottle, I have two options available depending on what you plan to do with it.

So, whether you decide to gift it or keep it all for yourself, choose which label best fits your needs. Grab a white full sheet label, print, cut and adhere to your bottle! Voila.

I used to make flavored vinegars all the time, but haven’t done any in a long time now. Thanks for reminding me what an easy and nice gift they make! I think several of my neighbors might be getting a bottle for Valentine’s Day.

I made a batch, waited the two weeks, then strained and bottled it. Very pretty. However, a few days later a layer of white filmy residue appeared at the bottom of each bottle. I strained it again through two coffee filters and re-bottled it. It looks clear and am hoping that it will stay that way. Any ideas on what the residue is?
