A Thrifted Side Table Makeover

Back in June, I posted about some of my thrifty finds.  A $9.00 table I happened to see at one of our many Goodwill stores.  I’m happy to report that I finally conquered the side table makeover!  Silly, I know… I mean its only a side table.  However, it’s been a very busy summer.  PLUS, I have the family joining us here in St. Louis for Thanksgiving, so I officially have to get to work  on my to-do list before then {giggle}.  I finally moved my thrifty find from the basement into the garage and made her look all pretty!

I decided to paint the table in one of my Annie Sloan colors:  Versailles.  I love it!

I did a couple of coats of paint, then did a little sanding to give it a little character.  I also used some watered down brown acrylic paint to use along the trim to add a little dimension.  Honestly, I think it made a world of difference.  The final step was putting on a coat of the Annie Sloan Clear Wax, which is water repellent.  Voila!  She’s done and fabulous!  I found the perfect spot in our Living Room and I couldn’t be happier.  What do you think of my side table makeover?

Feeling inpsired?  Ready to run out and hunt down some thrifty finds?
I’m ready to move onto another piece…. hmmm, what will it be?

I’ll be partying {hereherehere and here}.

That’s so pretty! I like that it’s neutral. It really shows off the fall colors in your room! So pretty…. Pat

I think my hubs is going to ban me from visiting you :) I’m so inspired. We have been talking about refinishing some different pieces of furniture. Now I am really wanting to get it done.

Hi Jaye! Actually, the top is a napkin — one I picked up at Goodwill awhile back. I like layering on my tabletops {hee-hee}. Thanks for the pin :) Have a fabulous week. Hugs!

Thanks so much, Holly! I use napkins and placemats like a rotating door around my house… change is good, right? Hee Hee.
