These Vanilla Crescents are delightfully delicious with hint of vanilla and almonds. A perfect pairing with a cup of coffee, tea or a glass of sweet wine.
Any cookie lovers out there? Yeah? Me too! I also enjoy trying new cookie recipes. I recently spotted this one in a Taste of Home cookbook my mom has. I’m as big fan of almonds, so I was anxious to give them a try. They are simple and delicious — a winning combination {wink}.
Vanilla Crescents
Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter softened
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/8 teaspoon almond extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/4 cups ground almonds
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Confectionery sugar
Instructions
- Preheat over to 350.
- In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in extracts.
- In another bowl, whisk flour, almonds and salt; gradually beat into creamed mixture.
- Divide dough into four portions. On a lightly floured surface, roll each portion into a 24 inch rope. Cut crosswise into twelve 2" logs; shape into a crescent. Place 1 1/2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheets.
- Bake 10-12 minutes or until set. Cool on pan for 2 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
- Dust warm cookies with confectionery sugar.
Don’t they look delicious? My sister helped me out with this recipe, and loved them! I often send extra goodies into work with her too — Steve and I can only eat so much. Haha!
Package these up in a treat bag for gifting, serve at your next tea party, or make a batch for snacking! Keep the recipe on-hand too, you’re friends will ask! Enjoy.
