Happy hellos from my little corner of the world to yours! It’s been a minute, right? Let’s do this.
Miscellany:
1. Happy Easter! Do you have any fun and exciting plans for Easter? We’ll be attending church with the family and grabbing a bite to eat at Hemingways, located in our local Bass Pro.
2. Best news — the biopsy on my nose came back NEGATIVE. Praise the Lord. I needed this good news.
3. I recently tried a new local coffee shop called El Cafecito. After hearing about this cute cafe and passing it several times, some of the fam bam decided to meet up for coffee and breakfast.
It was packed, but we all enjoyed the Latin American flair of the food and drinks. The aesthetic was so quaint, too.
4. Unfortunately, I’ve been in such a funk with very little motivation for the past several weeks. I had a therapy session a week or so ago and talked through a lot of things, which is always helpful.
One of my struggles is my diet and getting back to the gym (especially since my back wigged out).
So, I committed to at least getting my butt to the Golden Physiques class on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. This week I did it. Woo hoo. The struggle is real, friends. I’m taking it one day at a time, with hopes I can get back into the swing of things and lose some more weight.
5. My sister asked me to visit a thrift store with her recently. Thrift stores aren’t really my jam, but I thought, “Why not?” Haha.
So I went with her, and believe it or not, I scored a couple of good finds. One was a darling vintage trench coat for only $12.00. Woo-hoo.
6. My family always coined long farewells as the Pentecostal goodbye; however, this article refers to it as more of a Midwest thing. Give it a read and tell me what you think.
In my humble opinion, I think it’s more than just a Midwest Goodbye. I’d say it’s nationwide, possibly worldwide. Haha.
7. I just finished reading The Five-Star Weekend by Elin Hilderbrand. It was soooo good. A lot about grief and friendship.
8. What I’ve watched and/or am currently watching:
- The Madison (Paramount+): This series was amazing. So good, I can’t wait for Season 2 to be released.
- The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives S4 (Hulu): Per usual, it was all kinds of drama with a whole lot of Swig on the side. Haha.
- Sung Song Blue (Peacock): I saw this while in Texas and really enjoyed it. It’s based on a true story about a Milwaukee husband-and-wife Neil Diamond tribute act. I really enjoyed it — it was wild to think some of the things actually did happen. I did a lot of fact-checking. Highly recommend. Kate Hudson and Hugh Jackman did not disappoint.
- Anniversary (Hulu): This movie is a political psychological thriller that really impressed me. I didn’t know what to expect, but we really enjoyed it. All I know is that I hope our country never looks like what is depicted in this movie.
- Predator of Seville (Netflix): A docuseries about a young woman seeking justice against a tour guide in Spain. This was excellent and eye-opening. The young lady likes the “f” word, but how long this guy got away with his predator behaviors is mind-boggling.
- Imperfect Women (Apple TV): This series is currently releasing new episodes each week. It has an all-star cast, and I’ve been enjoying watching the storyline play out. Apparently, this is based on a book, something I have not read.

Kelly, there’s a documentary on youtube for free – put Neil Diamond Impersonator Documentary in your search bar and it should show up. I watched it prior to the Hugh & Kate movie. Both are VERY good, the true story is slightly darker.
