Happy hellos from a very steamy day here in the Ozarks. Our high today will be 90°F. Gulp. Doesn’t really feel like Spring. What are the temps in your neck of the woods?
Miscellany:
1. I’m back from Texas and had such a wonderful visit with my dear lifelong friend, Stacy. Our parents went to college together — we hung out as babies. It’s rare and something I treasure. Love you, Stacy! 🫶🏻
Friends can truly fill your cup. Catching up, laughing, eating out, sipping on wine, getting pedicures, and a little shopping with an old friend was just what the doctor ordered. I also had the BEST pimento cheese spread from H.E.B. — along with their homemade butter tortillas. Oh my glory, so good.
We strolled through the Historic Pearl in San Antonio, the outlets in San Marcos, and downtown New Braunfels. So many cute shops!

I was pleasantly surprised to see they had a Swig. I learned about it from watching The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives because they’re very popular in Utah. Anywho, I got to try one! I was so excited. I hope one makes its way here — there are a few in Kansas City and one in the St. Louis area, but zero here. Womp womp womp. I tried the Texas Tab with Diet Dr. Pepper, and it was delicious.
2. This past week, I had my annual dermatologist appointment. I’ve had a small, firm bump on my right nostril. I honestly didn’t have a concern, but it was very noticeable from my side profile.
Anywho, the nurse practitioner I see said that she didn’t like it and wanted to do a biopsy. My history with basal cell carcinoma is what concerned her, and I would rather err on the side of caution.

So, I’ve been wearing a Band-Aid on my columella all week. It made me very self-conscious, so I stay close to home. We did have a dinner engagement, but my friends said no worries. Selfie taken en route to dinner. Do you see the band-aid?
It’s healing nicely, and I am praying the biopsy will come back negative. No cancer in Jesus name. Please pray alongside me.
3. Earlier this week, I shared Instant Pot Hard Boiled Eggs — if you’re a meal or snack prepper, this is a win-win.
4. What I’m Reading: The Housemaid’s Secret.
While traveling, I read The Housemaid. It was so good. If you had to choose between reading the book and watching the movie, I would recommend reading the book. I saw the movie and preferred the book.
5. If you love the grandma trend, you might enjoy taking a look at the new Rifle Paper Co. Country Home collection. It’s like you’re visiting Grandma’s house! So sweet.

My mom stopped by and was admiring them. They look so real!
