beautiful scene in Colorado Springs, trees and a creek

Nestled in the natural beauty of Colorado Springs, this serene scene captures a quiet mountain creek winding through a rugged canyon. Smooth red rocks line the banks, while tall evergreens stand watch over the gently flowing water. The rich hues of the stone and lush greenery create a peaceful contrast, making it a perfect snapshot of Colorado’s wild, untouched charm. It’s the kind of place where you can pause, take a deep breath, and soak in the tranquil rhythm of nature. It was pure bliss.

However, it’s great to be home — and I’m excited to catch up with you!

Miscellany:

1. We took a trip to Colorado Springs, Colorado, and saw so many beautiful places and enjoyed no humidity. It was a remarkable change of scenery. I might be a mountain girl. Haha.

A road trip with our little family was exactly what I needed! I’ll share more soon.

2. We installed our dog door, and Steve rebuilt the steps. Guess what? It’s a GAME CHANGER! Cue the fireworks. We agreed this was one of the best decisions we’ve made as dog owners. 🙌🏻

3. Weight Loss. I finally hit the 25 pounds a couple of weeks ago. I haven’t weighed in for the last couple of weeks due to vacation, and this week I was on the struggle bus.

I’m trying not to obsess about all of this and taking it one day at a time. I found out this week that a couple of additional classes have been added to the gym’s class schedule. I was excited to hear that.

4. What I’ve watched and/or am watching:

  • Leann (Netflix) – loved it. I love her!
  • Platonic (Apple+) – if you like a good comedy with Seth Rogan and Rose Byrne. I enjoyed Season 1, so I’m watching Season 2.
  • The Twisted Tale of Amanda Knox (Hulu) – a little slow, but looking forward to seeing how it all plays out. I didn’t follow this story on the news as it was unfolding.
  • Fit for TV: The Reality of the Biggest Loser (Netflix) – very interesting docuseries. It was disheartening to see that many of them had regained the weight they had lost.
  • Stalking Samantha: 13 Years of Terror (Hulu) – WOW! This was a crazy town docuseries.
  • Unknown Number: The High School Catfish (Netflix) – this documentary blew my mind! 🤯

5. Family Freezer. Have you heard of The Family Freezer? I watched one free class and decided to sign up for it. Freezer meals can be so handy — and a great way to bless others in times of need. I have no affiliation with them, but you may want to check it out.

Tackling multiple meals at once is a win-win when using these bag holders in conjunction with your freezer bags.

6. Nash turned THREE. We celebrated with the family. I made him a little homemade dog cake. Everyone spoiled him with lots of new toys, gift cards, and treats. Isn’t he a handsome boy?

7. I’m so excited and ready for fall, friends. I’ve been lighting candles every night to create a cozier space. My current favorite is Cinnamon and Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin. I’m ready for sweater weather. How about you?
