Happy Saturday from a hot and humid Springfield, MO. I can’t believe it’s been THREE weeks since the last weekender. WOW. Where did the time go? I’m pumped to catch up.

Miscellany:
1. Let’s start with a quick update on our sweet Nashville. The last time I mentioned Nash’s limp was 6/1. Unfortunately, things got much worse.
We made several trips to the vet over the next couple of weeks. A growth or sore began to grow and crack open. We started an antibiotic, and at a follow-up appointment on 6/12, our vet admitted that he was stumped. He felt we needed to see a specialist instead of paying him for more testing that may not provide answers. The hardest part of that conversation was learning that Nash may have to have the toe/pad amputated. So, we scheduled a visit with a specialist in Kansas City to see the specialist for Wednesday, 6/19. We are praying for a miracle or answers.
On Sunday night (6/16), Steve and I agreed that we noticed Nash wasn’t limping, and his pad/toe was showing signs of improvement. I felt like the swelling even seemed to be going down. So, I called the vet on Monday morning and sent some pictures for feedback. Our vet asked that we bring Nash in this afternoon.
PTL!! Our vet confirmed what we saw — IMPROVEMENT (in less than a week and for the first time after several weeks of progressively worsening). Our vet asked how we felt about postponing the appointment. We explained that we reached out for a confirmation on his improvement because we’re certainly not the professionals. Our prayers were being answered.
We canceled the specialist’s appointment, and Nash’s paw continues to improve. What a fantastic turn of events, friends.
*For reference, in these situations, things are done backward. A biopsy requires the removal of the toe to determine what is going on. Steve and I do not want to be hasty on any decisions….especially when we know that we serve a BIG God.
2. My sister and I had our annual garage sale the weekend of the 7th and 8th. It was a little smaller than usual, but we made about $700. Not too shabby.
I wasn’t feeling it at all. On Thursday night, I asked my sister if we could donate everything. Lol. I’ve just been in such a slump. Sigh.
However, we followed through, and I was glad to close that garage door and donate the leftovers on Saturday afternoon.
3. Father’s Day. I hope everyone enjoyed celebrating the dads or father figures in their lives. We celebrated on the Friday before Father’s Day. The family went to Greek Belly, a yummy Greek Restaurant in downtown Springfield. Afterward, we walked to Prairie Pie for a slice of pie and a cup of coffee. It was such a nice night celebrating my dad, and I know he really enjoyed himself.
4. Dr. Pepper Passes Pepsi as the Second Favorite Soda Brand in the US. I’m confident that my sister and switching our alliance from Diet Coke to Diet Dr. Pepper may have contributed to this outcome. 😂😂. Just kidding. However, I was super excited to hear about this news.
5. This was an interesting read: YOLO is Dying. Bad news for the economy?
6. I love this lip combo. The colors are beautiful and have a perfectly neutral look. What do you think?
7. In case you missed my new post last week, I shared a DIY Boho Decor on a Budget. I think the project was incredibly simple but has some flair. Check it out, mkay?
8. This is just a quick reminder that if you shop online a lot (desktop or phone), you have to add the Capital One Browser Extension to save and earn rewards. I recently logged in and found that I earned $35 in rewards. You can redeem your rewards for gift cards. I got a $10 one for Bath and Body Works and a $25 one for American Eagle (so I can use it at Aerie). Haha.
9. What would you use this expandable peg wall rack for? I love them. I might get one for the hats in our closet. I love these — they have a boho feel and are incredibly versatile.
