My dogs are my fur babies. I love them to pieces and I want nothing more for them to be healthy, with a side of happy — a whole lot of happy! Spoiled is probably an understatement… they are hugged, kissed and given belly rubs every single day! Mealtime is no exception either — while they’re often very casual, my boys know when it’s mealtime. It usually starts like this:
“Parker! Buster! Ready to eat?” You then hear the tap tap tap of their paw prints on the hardwood.”
I giggle at every meal, as they sit at my ankles barking for me to hurry up! When they hear the hard food hit the bowl, their excitement intensifies as they hear that wet food being mixed in to each of their bowls. Parker (our maltese) starts to pace with high pitch whimpers — it’s so funny. On more than occasion I’ve said, “You’d think you were deprived, buddy!” Insert a giggle or two!

I always stay close while they eat — in the mornings, I might be enjoying my yogurt or bowl of cereal and, at night, I’m usually getting dinner on the table while they’re enjoying theirs. I guess you could say we all congregate in the kitchen — for both meals {smile}. They’re happy to be eating and I’m thrilled that they’re eating healthy. SCORE!
Look at how cute that gravy filled beard is! Sweet Parker….
Buster rarely comes up for air… his head is in his bowl the entire time!
They lick their bowls dry, typically I hear a few more taps on the hard wood floor as they scope out each others bowls… and they then head to the back door to go outdoors.
I asked Parker, “What do you say, buddy?” Would you believe he gave me a high five?!? Here’s to tasty dinners that are 100% complete and balanced.
