Halloween Gift Card Holders

I’m on a roll this year with Halloween projects — which is extremely rare!  I recently got my hands on a Sizzix BigKicks and I was sooo stinking excited to put it to use.  Being that I love envelopes, little bags, and owls, I came up with these super cute Halloween Gift Card Holders and just had to share!

Give a sweet Halloween treat in the form of a gift card with this DIY Halloween Gift Card Holders. www.livelaughrowe.com #halloween #giftcardholder

Supplies:

Sizzix Machine
Pocket with Scallop Edge Die Cut
Scrapbook Paper (patterned and solid white, black and orange)
Old Book Pages
Scissors
Hole Punches 3/4″ and 1″  (or circle stencil)
Glue Stick (permanent)
Large Kraft Gift Tags
Ribbon/Rick Rack

Let me first say that I don’t expect everyone to run out and buy a Sizzix, so if you don’t have one — you could easily buy mini bags.  With the Sizzix BIGKick, however, you can use any patterned paper for any holiday {wink}.  If you don’t own one, guess what’s coming up soon?  The holidays.  {hee-hee}.

Alrighty, let’s take a quick look at how I pulled these gift card holders together.  The very first thing you’ll want to do is make your pockets or buy little bags, then we can move on to the details.

Step One:  Prep pieces for owls.

I traced out a quick owl to trace onto old book pages and cut them out.  You’ll need a set of two 3/4″ white circles and a set of black 1″ circles.  I used a standard hole punch for the black pupils.  A small orange triangle will serve as the beak.

Step Two:  Glue owl pieces to your pocket.

Glue all of your pieces to your pocket — easy enough right? Start with your large black circle, then your white circle, followed by your smaller black circle.  Add beak and tada!

Step Three:  Attach Ribbon to Tag

I used a black ribbon (with stitches) and an orange rick rack.  Cut to the size of your choice, insert into a hole in your gift tag and bring all four ends together. Staple at the top of your tag.

Now, all that’s left for you to do is decide what gift card you might be gifting and attach it with double-sided tape or a glue dot!

Use an adorable Halloween paper pocket as a gift card holder! Starbucks anyone? www.livelaughrowe.com #halloween #giftcardholderYou could easily send these along as Halloween cards too, by writing a note on them…

Use an adorable Halloween paper pocket as a gift card holder or as a unique Halloween card! www.livelaughrowe.com #halloweenWhatever the purpose might be…. you have super cute little bags or pockets to pass along and make someone’s day!  They sure make me smile.

Happy Crafting, friends.
