Chalkboards and chalkboard paint seem to be trending.  Now there’s even a clear chalkboard paint that you can use over any color paint!  I’ve done a couple chalkboard themed projects,  my fabulous DIY Kitchen Chalkboard and DIY Plywood Chalkboards using the Dremmel.   I even sell wood tags with chalkboard paint in my shop. It’s so versatile and can be painted on just about anything.   Today I have another chalkboard project, a DIY Chalkboard Tray to use as wall decor.  I also happen to be sharing the tutorial with you on video.

DIY Chalkboard TrayIf you have a love for chalkboard projects, you’ve come to the right place.  I think you’ll find this project to a be a fun craft the family could work on together too.

Supplies used:Wood tray (purchased on clearance at JoAnn Fabrics), black chalkboard paint (I used Valspar from Lowe’s), craft wire, wire cutters, paint (unless tray is already painted), paint brushes and fun embellishments such as instagram pics, etc.  Side note, I printed the instagram prints at Walgreens.  Love them!

This project was super simple and is a fantastic way to show off a couple pics or fun memorabilia in a creative way.  For full tutorial, view this video:

Be sure to subscribe to my YouTube channel, as I hope to share more fun videos with you in the future!  Thanks so much for stopping by and happy crafting!

I’ll be partying {here and here}.
