Hi Live Laugh Rowe readers! Kimberly from A Night Owl here, and I’m so happy to be here sharing a fun and festive recipe with you today! I absolutely adore Kelly and always have, so I jumped at the chance to chat with you here on her amazing blog. Kelly is a kindred spirit, we both love to create and craft! And today I’m sharing my latest delicious creation – Candy Cane Hot Cocoa!

Recipe from A Night Owl for livelaughrowe.com #hotcocoaSo I was running through the store the other day (that’s how I roll, I’m always in a hurry!) and near the check out counter I saw a bag of Candy Cane Hershey Kisses out of the corner of my eye. GASP! Now I know you may not be ready for ALL things Christmas, I mean we still have Thanksgiving to consider, right?! But I welcome Christmas goodies and treats with open arms! So my open arms snagged up a few bags and headed home.

Yes, besdies just unwrapping and popping them into my mouth. And first up, I knew they would make some delicious hot cocoa! So I unwrapped and chopped up about half a bag, added them to some milk on the stovetop and slowly melted that chocolate goodness…

Candy Cane Hot Cocoa

Prevent your screen from going to sleep

Ingredients

  • 4 oz Candy Cane Hershey Kisses
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • Whipped cream optional

Instructions

  • Unwrap and chop the Hershey Kisses into smaller pieces.
  • In a small saucepan, combine the chocolate, milk and vanilla and melt over medium heat, stirring often (do not allow mixture to boil).
  • Once completely melted, pour hot cocoa into mugs, top with whipped cream and enjoy immediately!
