Summer break is officially in full swing! How many of you mommas are looking for some activities to keep the kiddos busy? This Nature Scavenger Hunt is sure to lend a hand.
To get scavenger hunt fun started, you’ll want to:
- Choose a scavenger location (neighborhood, park, etc).
- Print out your scavenger hunt.
- Place them in sheet protectors (to protect from the elements and dirty hands).
- Grab a snack or two.
- Field Notes notebooks, optional (fun for older kids to keep notes).
Maybe you don’t want to actually ‘collect’ all of the goodies (in all reality, some of them you really can’t collect), consider taking a camera (the kids would LOVE taking a polaroid camera along to capture their finds). Your phone would work great too!
Upon returning home, create a nature board for the kids to keep the summer memories alive until school is back in session! Whether the kids took pictures or grabbed a few leaves, flowers and rocks, I’m sure there is a way to display their finds around the house.
Of course, these are just a few ideas of what they might be on the look out for, encourage them to collect more objects or take additional pictures! The more, the merrier…
Ready to grab some snacks and start exploring? I am.
