Well hello there! It’s been over a month since I even visited the thought of a What I Wore Wednesday post. I took a short sabbatical due to the holidays. I kinda lived in my sweat pants for weeks at a time {hee-hee}. I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I also have insecurities just like every other woman and I know my style is nothing extravagant; however, that’s exactly the way I like it. I am me and I have a style of my own that may or may not tell you a little about me and what I like… I hope you don’t mind that.
Anywho, I’m back and will continue to do these every now and again. I do have a goal of weight loss this year and may even try using a tripod to take some WIWW pictures. The older I get, the harder weight loss has become — but this is the year. I’m starting to feel uncomfortable in my own skin and that’s not how I want to live.
Heather from The Picket Fence is on a weight loss journey that is so incredibly inspiring. So, I’ve concluded that 2014 is my year and confession is good for the soul, right? Why am I telling you this? Accountability {hee-hee}. I’m doing a lot of travel this year and two of them will be on or near the beach… ahem!

Shortly before Christmas, my friend Michelle stopped by to do a little holiday crafting. She had a super cute sweatshirt on that I was determined to get my hands on as well. It was from a shop called, Cato. I had heard mixed stories about the store, but liked the sweatshirt enough that I was going! It ended up being a short trip of $100 retail therapy. This tribal shirt was one of the few things I picked up. It called out to me from the rack. I love tribal prints and would dress in the Bohemian style incessantly if I could. What do you think? The back has some fun details too, sorry I couldn’t capture that for ya.
Shirt: Cato
Jeans: Hand me down
Boots: Nine West
Watch: Fossil (purchased in the 90’s)
Feather Wrap Bracelet: Gifted
Silver/Gold Bracelet: Fossil

Such a cute top, Kelly! Your hair looks great too. And I love the delicate and gorgeous arm party. Basically I love everything.
And you’re right, all of us have felt uncomfortable in our own skin at one point or another. Let me assure you though… you have great style! That’s something to always be confident about 🙂

First, yes. I agree w/ Gina – Your hair looks awesome and I know this isn’t a hair post but, well. It does. 🙂 Next, I LOVE the shirt {and that feather bracelet – more details??}
This IS the year. Heather’s story is pretty darned amazing and I also think we each set our own achievable goals. Excited to follow along with you on the journey as always, my friend!! XO

Don’t think you’re alone in not feeling right in own skin. It’s so hard feeling like you know you need to lose weight but for a time are comfortable in yourself. Not everybody is meant to be skinny. I’ve only been skinny once in my life but was too thin, I just don’t look right (and older I get the truer this is) when I’m too thin, I have a thin long face but fluffy everywhere else, hey I had 5 kids in my life. Without a thyroid my weight has been an ongoing battle most of my life.
We used to live in San Diego area and I was a beach person, but all those nice young slender/big boobed bodies running around can sure make a person feel quite like running to the restroom to hide. Yeah we get the cellulite, saggy butt and belly, (really saggy boobs the older i get). For some reason in my 70’s I don’t have as hard a time, can pretty much eat junk and get away with it, for while anyway til my clothes get tight, then watch out. I should have been an adult in the era with buxom women.
Not all men like skinny women, my hubs seems to like me either way. Our daughter has terrible time with her weight also and her husband loves her just the way she is. She’s been thin and fluffy, it seems to go in stages with her as it has me, she’ll be 44 in April.
Guess what all this wordiness is trying to say is that we’ll be along for the ride with you, cheering you on while alot of us will be trying to conquer same struggles. . The inspiration will be going to beaches this year, lucky you. I’d be happy just to get to do the state park lake 7 1/2 miles from us.
