Yay for holidays! As we wrap up Christmas, we quickly move on to Valentine’s Day… actually, I couldn’t believe that BEFORE Christmas, our local Walmart had all of their Valentine’s Day candy out. That kinda made me sad, why must we rush the holidays?  We’re decorating for Christmas before Thanksgiving these days.  Sigh.

Oh well, I have no say in retail {hee-hee}, but I do like to wait until after Christmas to start sharing some Valentine’s Day crafts.  There’s no better time than the present, right?  So, how about some super sweet and simple Handmade Heart Gift Tags?

Simple and Sweet Handmade Heart Gift Tags with livelaughrowe.comI love having some crafting fun with felt and kraft paper — and they just happen to be the key supplies for today’s project. YAY!  Remember my DIY Stitched Heart Valentine Tags?

Supplies for Heart Gift Tags:
Kraft Cardstock
Circle Punch
Red Felt
Scissors
Hole Punch
Glue or Glue Gun
Sewing Machine (or needle and thread)
Hemp Twine or Bakers Twine

(1) Make Circle Tags.

Cut or punch out your circles.  I used the Fiskar Squeeze Circle Punch in X-Large (2″).  You could also purchase 2″ Circle Kraft Tags.

punching out the round tags from kraft paper(2)  Cut Felt Hearts

I cut out little felt hearts but folding over a piece of red felt and using small detail scissors.

Cutting little felt hearts to attach to kraft tags (3) Stitch a line onto your circle tag.

I stitched my line on the tag using my sewing machine; however, you can easily do this with embroidery floss or thread and a needle.

stitch a quick line using your sewing machine(4)  Assemble the tag.

Punch a hole into your tag using your hole puncher and attach your little felt heart with glue.  I used this glue gun.

After stitching a line, punch a hole into label and attach heart with glue(5) Attach string.

Attach hemp twine or bakers twine to create a loop for hanging.  And we’re done!  Write a sweet note to your recipient and you’re ready to sweeten you gift with a sweet handmade heart gift tag.

Simply Sweet DIY Handmade Heart Tags with livelaughrowe.comSuper simple, right?  I absolutely adore them and I’m hoping to add them to my shop soon… So, stay tuned in case you’d rather just purchase a few {smile}.

DIY Handmade Heart Tags with livelaughrowe.comHappy Crafting… and don’t forget to spread the crafty love!

Great post, love your adorable tags, so cute, easy to make.
Our HL had Christmas out already in June of last year, took up half the front part of store with all the “stuff” they had out. Seems I wasn’t only one thinking it was bit much and too early, heard other people commenting also.
I’m ready to make a few Valentine things. Found some I’d made last year, was pleasantly surprised at what I found. Maybe I’ll have to make some for gifts.
    Happy days Kelly
