Happy weekend. It’s a perfect Spring Day here in my corner of Missouri. It’s a little cooler than most would like, but it’s not wintery, so I’d say that’s a win.

beautiful forsythia

I saw so much forsythia yesterday when driving back home. It’s a beautiful sign of spring, and I love forsythia. Yellow is such a happy color, too.

“Forsythia is pure joy. There is not an ounce, not a
glimmer of sadness or even knowledge in forsythia.
Pure, undiluted, untouched joy.”

(Anne Morrow Lindbergh)

Miscellany:

1. Are you an active Facebook user? You probably noticed the Facebook outage on Wednesday. A few people panicked. Many small businesses and network marketers use these platforms. This article was an interesting read about having a social media backup plan. Speaking of backup plans, are you a subscriber to my emails?

2. I had coffee with a friend this week. We had such a pleasant visit. One of our conversations was about church and worship music. We both shared how often we’re touched by the lyrics. So, I mentioned a song that recently tugged at my heart called Jehovah by Elevation Worship. It was the week before my sister’s D&C, and we sang this song. I’ve always been familiar with the names of Jehovah but haven’t always remembered them and their particular meanings.

The song had this line…

Jehovah-Nissi, fight your battles
Jehovah-Jireh meet your need
Jehovah-Rapha heal your body
Jehovah-Shalom be your peace

And Jehovah-Shalom was the reminder I needed that week. I’ve whispered it several times since, when I’m feeling a little anxious or unsettled.

I would say that I play worship music 80% of the time, and it always plays on my phone when I go to bed. It just calms my restless mind.

And don’t get me wrong, I still love singing my heart out to Taylor Swift and others.

3. Steve (my husband) joked earlier this week that Nashville has a better social life than he does. Nash had two days in doggy daycare and then a visit to the groomer. 😂😂

We had a good chuckle. Laughter is so good for the soul.

4. Sooooooo, last weekend, I mentioned the wreath post going up, but I was a little too excited and shared the wrong day. It’s this coming Tuesday! Sorry about that. Lol. There’s some proof in the pudding that I’m a hot mess most days. Haha.

5. This past week, I shared a new recipe. If you missed it, check it out: a Mexican Quinoa Salad packed with protein, fruits, and vegetables.

6. We got a bread maker!! Believe it or not, Steve was the one who initiated this purchase, so I also let him make the first loaf. It took about 3 hours and smelled so dang good (that smell should be criminal). The end result? A warm, delicious, and homemade loaf of bread.

7. WW update. I’m going to try to post here each week for some accountability. Yesterday, I was down .8 on the scale, for a total of 4.6 pounds over the past two weeks. Slow and steady. This past week, I really struggled with hunger. Womp, womp, womp.
