Prepare to crave breakfast food, y’all! Jelli from Jellibean Journals is back today sharing a yummy protein packed breakfast food: Caramel Apple Overnight Oats. Enjoy!
There’s no faster way I know to get breakfast on the table than to serve overnight oats. My family practically lives off overnight oats variations, like this incredible fall favorite, Caramel Apple Overnight Oats. Just layer all the ingredients in a jar the night before and wake up to a delicious, nutritious, hearty oat breakfast with zero morning prep!
Caramel apple overnight oats are a great way to get some extra protein and fruit into your family’s diet starting first thing in the morning. Crisp, tart apples are combined with creamy caramel flavor, tangy cinnamon, crunchy walnuts, and of course, milk!
I prefer making overnight oats recipes with rolled oats, but you can certainly use quick cooking oats too. They work just fine, but aren’t quite as chewy.
Now, there are a couple of routes you could go with this recipe. You could buy or make apple pie filling and layer it into the oats or you can simply dice fresh apples and toss them in. Personally, I like to keep things simple and low-sugar, so I opted for fresh apples.
The other variation deals with the caramel. Here, I chose to use something that many people have on hand, caramel coffee creamer, as the caramel flavoring. You could certainly opt to make your own caramel sauce or use jarred. As far as homemade caramel sauce goes, this is my favorite recipe.
Now, let’s get to making breakfast!
