Melt and Pour Soaps are a perfect way to customize a bar of soap to have a favorite scent, shape, color and more!
A couple of soap recipes have appeared here on Live Laugh Rowe, because I think they’re fun, easy and make great gifts! Sure, it may take a little trial and error, but it is an easy process.
Experiment with different soaps, ingredients and oils. The possibilities are endless and you’ll have a lot of fun along the way (wink).

Thanks for posting these recipes. Almost all the recipes I find when searching are almost novelty-ish. Much appreciated!

My pleasure, Nicole!! Happy soap making. xo
Pily says
Am I able to sell the soaps from your recipes?
Kelly Rowe says
Hi Pily. Of course 🙂
Kim says
Can you add extra coconut, sweet almond, shea butter, etc,. To melt and pour soaps??
Tea Coble says
You can, yes, but I’ve found that in doing so, the soap seems to lose lather. I don’t know why this happens but since I’ve stopped adding special ingredients, my soap lathers much more.
Nancy aka Summer says
Do you use essential oils or fragrance oils? Thanks.
Kelly Rowe says
Hi Nancy. I’ve used both, as long as they state they can be used in soaps 🙂 Hope that helps! Cheers.
Trishh says
If it says “lye” its not melt and pour, it can be cold process or hot process soap and its much more difficult than melt and pour. Lye is toxic if in direct contact with the skin, thats why soap makers have to take extra precautions while doing cold process or hot process soap (with lye).
Janine says
Can you combine butter or milk based soaps with glycerin based soap for a layered look?
Kelly Rowe says
Hi Janine. I’ve never tried that, so I can’t say for sure — I think you can, but you might want to try googling it 😉 Good luck!
Michelle Radley says
Yes! You can! And it turns out beautifully!
Thanks Kelly for you links. There are numerous recipes I am going to try!

If it works, I have posted a link of a soap I made with both glycerine and Shea Butter melt and pour to show you how creative you can get.
Kelly Rowe says
Hi Michelle! Thanks so much for stopping by. Unfortunately, your FB link didn’t work, so please feel free to e-mail (kelly(at)livelaughrowe.com) it to me. I’d love to see it! HUGS
Tea Coble says
Yes you can, just make sure you spray some alcohol between the layers so they adhere to each other!
