After a long, dreary winter, it seems like Spring is finally here to stay. With a new season and the warm air, and flowers blooming, it leaves a lot of us with the urge to refresh the rooms in our home and trade in the heavy colors and dark fabrics of winter for the lighter and brighter air of spring.
I’ve loved partnering with Havertys to share some inspiration and decor ideas! Today I’m sharing four tips for a quick and easy living room spring refresh. Four great tip to freshen up your living room for spring without breaking the bank. Woo Hoo! The best part? You can create your own inspiration board for a chance to win $500 for your own Spring Refresh from Havertys!
One: Start with neutrals.
When you’re purchasing a large piece of furniture like a sofa or chair, choose something in a neutral color like gray, white or tan. Most of us don’t have the budget to change out our furniture every season, but when these investment pieces are neutral, it makes it easy to change the colors of the smaller pieces in a room and completely transform the look.
Two: Add Color.
Once you’ve got your neutrals, add color. When you have larger pieces of neutral, you can bring in bright pops of color in things like pillows, throws, and lamps. Using colors like blues, yellows, and greens bring in that light, fresh feeling of Spring.
Three: Bring in Bold Patterns.
Whether it be in a rug or an accent ottoman, chairs, or patterns on your pillows, a bold pattern brings interest and more of that bright feeling into the room.
Four: Mirrors or Art.
A sunburst mirror, or bright art, or both can add visual interest and more of that color. It’s also a way to use several of your favorite colors in a room, but anchor them all together by coordinating the colors in the art, with the colors of the rug, pillows, and other accent pieces.
Happy decorating. Be inspired, friends. xo
