Jars of Buttons | Gift Tags

I {love} Mason Jars, whether they’re glass, stamped, blue tinted, painted, or drawn!  Soooo, a while back I found these adorable jars of buttons gift tags via Pinterest and pinned for future inspiration.  I remembered buying some mason jar graphics from one of my favorite Etsy shops called the Pink Pueblo, so the wheels started turning. Before too long, these beauties were born and I have a confession to make, I swoon every time I see them.  They are perfectly eclectic, vintage inspired and versatile, a few of my very favorite things for embellishing gifts!

jars of buttons DIY gift tagsSupplies needed:  kraft and white cardstock, a printer to print the jars, scissors or paper cutter, sewing machine (optional), buttons, rounded corner punch (optional) and a glue gun.  I actually had blank playing cards on hand that were just the right size, so I didn’t have to do any extra cutting for those.

It’s as simple as this:

  • Print off the jar tags and round the corners by hand or use corner punch.
  • Sew the kraft jar tags to the white card stock you cut out or use blank playing cards. You can hand stitch or glue if you prefer.
  • Glue buttons to jar. Feel free to thread some of the buttons.  I used vintage buttons, so some were already threaded.

An you’re done!  So super easy and incredibly darling, right?  Think of all the fun that can be had with these jars of buttons to add a fun touch to your gift giving!

Kelly, this is such a creative and cute way to make gift tags. I’m not sure I understand the Mason jar fad that seems to be sweeping the nation right now, but I do love these labels!
