Hello from my little corner of the Ozarks. It’s been one of those weeks that felt both full and a little slow at the same time. Here’s some randomness from the week. Enjoy!

Miscellany:

1. Walking through the neighborhood this week was such a treat. Hearing the birds chirping and seeing some of the trees budding. Spring is just around the corner. Eeks.

2. Guys, the flu is rampant in the area, so I stayed very close to home all week. Why? Because I’m flying out of town on Monday to visit a friend. And there is no way in hell-o I’m getting sick. Yes and Amen! I may have a mask in my carry-on if someone around me coughs a wee bit too much. Ha!

We went to church last Sunday, and every time I heard a cough, I would grab Steve’s knee. We moved our seats a couple of times. It was laughable (truly) — like we were seriously laughing so hard.

Anywho, we ended up sitting in the highest corner of the balcony.

3. In regard to travel, I’ve always been a historic overpacker. How about you?

When we’re driving somewhwere it’s no big deal. However, when I’m flying, that’s a different story. Checking a bag now costs upwards of $80, and that, my friends, is ludicrous.

So, I’m going to stick with a carry-on only for this trip. I think the hardest part is the limited number of liquids. Goodness gracious. When you factor in BB cream, sunprotection, hair care, perfume, etc — how is a woman supposed to get all of that in a quart-size bag? Thank God for my cream makeup.

I’ve whittled it all down to the bare necessities and will hit the travel-size bottles at the local Walmart or Target if necessary. I’ll have the same carry-on as pictured, but for this trip, I’m taking a black backpack instead of the leather tote.

I chuckled when I found this picture on my phone because there’s a slight resemblance to what I was planning to fly in on Monday. Comfort is mandatory. Hee-hee.

4. It was an exciting week on the blog with two new posts:

  • Crockpot Crack Potato Soup – one last hoorah before the warm weather rolls in.
  • “We are the Luckiest” Wall Art – it’s free, simple, and neutral! Enjoy.

5. If there is one thing I’m obsessed with the Aerie Oh Snap! Sweatshirts! I love that you can snap them up or unsnap them and layer a cute tank, bra, or shirt under them.

And they keep releasing new ones! I love the newest colors. I snatched up the cake batter print already. The cozy yellow and hot fuchsia are on my radar, too.

5. I’m also really excited to share a new collaboration with Seranova. I recently became one of their ambassadors, and after learning more about their award-winning Micro Infusion System™, I couldn’t wait to share it with you.

The system uses ultra-fine cosmetic-grade touchpoints that create tiny, temporary surface pathways in the skin. This helps serums absorb more effectively, allowing ingredients like hydrating hyaluronic acid and peptides to reach the upper layers of your skin that traditional creams sometimes miss.

The goal? Skin that looks smoother, plumper, and more refreshed over time. When used every couple of weeks, many users report improvements in the look of fine lines, uneven texture, and overall radiance — all from the comfort of home.

I’m excited they’re offering you a discount too! Use my link and/or code KELLY10 to save 10%.

6. I had a blog fail this past week. I made a recipe to photograph, only to find that I had missed a whole step. Nevertheless, I went to photograph it and ended up not liking the photos.

When will I learn that shooting on white backgrounds can be challenging — and on an overcast day to boot? I guess some things aren’t meant to be. I’ll circle back and revisit it at another time. It’s a yummy dessert, so I’ll definitely be sharing it with you.

7. What I’ve watched and/or am currently watching:

  • Cross S2 (Amazon Prime): Detective series adapted from James Patterson novels. I’ve enjoyed reading several of his books. I’ve watched a couple of episodes and so far, so good.
  • Ford vs. Ferrari (Netflix): EXCELLENT! I loved this movie, surprised I hadn’t heard of it or watched it before, it’s from 2019. My husband is a movie critic, and he thoroughly enjoyed it as well. 10/10
  • New era of Yellowstone, Marshals (Paramount+): This just premiered last week, so I’ve only seen one episode. Kayce Dutton is the returning Dutton from Yellowstone. I’m excited to see how this show pans out.

Around the Web:

These DIY Tissue Paper Carnation Favors.

These Sprinkle Wax Seal Stickers. So darling!

DIY Photo Clipboards.

This grape and cherry tomato cutter! Who knew?

These Ground Turkey Bang Bang Rice Bowls.

Mason Jar Lid Mini Pies? Genius.

I’m getting this table runner for spring decor.

Darling DIY Felt Daffodils.

These Easy Egg Carton Easter Basket Ideas.

Have you tried these? Oh my glory. So good and addictive.

One Last Hoorah:

There’s something magical about the first daffodils of the season. After months of gray skies and chilly mornings, those cheerful yellow blooms feel like nature’s little reminder that brighter days are ahead. Their gentle sway in the breeze almost looks like dancing, which makes William Wordsworth’s words feel especially fitting: “my heart with pleasure fills and dances with the daffodils.”

Spring has a beautiful way of waking everything up — the gardens, the trees, and even our spirits. Whether tucked into a simple frame on a shelf, layered into a seasonal vignette, or added to a gallery wall, this printable captures that joyful moment when the world begins to bloom again.

Daffodils have long been a symbol of renewal, hope, and fresh beginnings — all the things we tend to crave after a long winter. I hope this little piece of spring brings a bit of that same lightness and beauty to your day.
