Hello again, Live.Laugh.Rowe readers!  It’s Jill from Create.Craft.Love and I have a simple winter decorating idea for you today!  I know most of us are trying to get through Thanksgiving and Christmas, but this project can easily be incorporated into any fall/winter holiday!  Try making your own Snow Dusted Pine Cone Fillers with my easy tutorial!

Supplies:
Pine Cones
Spray SNOW in a can
Clear Glitter or White Glitter

SNOW in a can may be the best invention…EVER!  Here’s in SW Missouri, we won’t see the white stuff until January.  With the wonders of modern technology, you can bring snow inside instead of heading out in the cold.

pineconefillersuppliesSpread the snowflakes out over some newspaper.  I would advise doing this in the garage since the pine cones are light enough to get carried away by the wind.  {Not that I would know that from personal experience.  hee hee}

Holding the can about 12-18 inches from the pine cones, begin spraying a light coat of the canned snow.

pineconefillersprayWhile the snow is still wet, sprinkle some glitter on them.  They’ll shine like freshly fallen snow.

Once they have dried, flip them over and repeat the above process.
I let mine dry overnight after the second coat.
The great thing about this project is the versatility!
You can use them as candle filler in a glass hurricane.

Or you can place them in a small dish with some potpourri to place on a shelf!

pineconefillerpotpourriI am thinking of making a wreath with them too!  Wouldn’t that be pretty?If you’re looking for more holiday ideas, swing by my corner of the blogosphere.

Hope everyone has the happiest of holidays!!

    These are great for any kind of decorating for holidays. I’ve been using some of small pine cones, sans snow, to fill in with Fall decos. I’m lucky enuf to be able to find them at a state park not far from our house. I had so many last year after holidays I gave lots of them to the thrift store. They’ve got them out in bags for sale now. I really prefer the smaller ones for fillers, easier to arrange them, stick into small spaces. I still have bags of them in our shed with holiday decos.
    One year I had bigger cones which I put in a basket and wound lights all thru them and how pretty they were. Can be set anywhere and look so pretty with the lights glowing.
    I was thinking it might be really pretty if some of the cones were dusted with German glass glitter among the other glitter. I’m going to try to find the glass glitter so I can use it myself this holiday season. Great post, glad it was shared. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.
