Mother’s Day Word Search | Printable Word Game

Mother’s Day is just around the corner.  Celebrating our mom’s is something we should never take for granted.  I thought it might be fun for us to give mom a printable word game.  Tell her to enjoy a cup of coffee/tea or a glass of wine and dive into some alone time with this Mother’s Day Word Search. Hey, fifteen minutes is better than nothing (haha).

Mother's Day Word Search. Printable Word Game

After finding out that I had fertility issues, Mother’s Day became a happy-sad time of celebration.  Don’t get me wrong, I love celebrating my mom. She’s an amazing woman of God — she brought me into this world and helped mold me into the woman I am today.

However, there was also an ache that came from the mothering and nurturing part of me that was left feeling a void.

Fun Printable Word Game for Mother’s Day

If you’re one of those women, you’re not alone.  It’s a real heartache that you are feeling.  One day you’ll be able to embrace a peace that passes all understanding.  My chapter closed last year when I had a hysterectomy and God has been doing a lot of work in my life, allowing me to find that perfect peace. Most importantly, I’ve had to trust His perfect will.  Some days, that’s no easy feat.

Similarly, maybe some of you have lost your mom.  But guess what?  You can still celebrate her life and the role she played in yours.  Do something in her memory.  Release a balloon, listen to one of her favorite songs, etc.  Maybe some of the words in this printable word search will resonate with what she was like.

Inspiring Words

I saw this poem recently by Ralph Waldo Emerson (BTW, he’s a favorite of mine) and was truly touched by the words.  Most importantly it made me think that this would be the prayer of a mother for her child(ren).

This is my wish for you;
Comfort on difficult days,
smiles when sadness intrudes,
rainbows to follow the clouds,
laughter to kiss your lips,
sunsets to warm your heart,
hugs when spirits sag,
beauty for your eyes to see,
friendships to brighten your being,
faith so that you can believe,
confidence for when you doubt,
courage to know yourself,
patience to accept the truth,
Love to complete your life.

-Ralph Waldo Emerson

Before we wrap things up, I wanted to give all of the mother’s reading this post a virtual bouquet — and say Happy Mother’s Day.  With so many weird things going on in this world and some things being considered non-essential, maybe this virtual bouquet can brighten your day.  Feel free to share it with a friend or two.  (wink-wink)

I see “big heart”, but not big hearted. Are you sure it’s there? Thanks so much for the activity! These are always fun.
