Yep!  My messy craft room became my weekend project!

On Friday I confessed over on Facebook that I was going to tackle cleaning up my messy craft room.  If you look closely, you can see where I was styling some supplies for an upcoming post, the piles of fabric and one of my backdrops slumped on the floor, etc. What a mess!!  BUT, who are we kidding?  It’s not easy keeping a picture perfect craft room.  Right?!?!  Please tell me I’m not alone here.

I waited waaaaay to long to jump on the idea of getting this room cleaned up.  Remember the Shabby Chic Room Makeover reveal earlier this year?  My beautiful craft room is now used for countless hours of creating projects for the blog or items for my shop!  The messiness started to get out of control.  I would go in, do my project or take my pictures and leave (shutting the door behind me, of course).  Well, with the holidays quickly approaching, I know I’ll be in that room A LOT more.

So, I recruited some help from my fabulous sister…. and we tackled 90% of this project on Saturday.  Can  you believe I had to do a little more work on the finishing touches the next day?  Why did it take so long?  Well, most of what is pictured didn’t necessarily have a home in the dresser or the closet. {hee-hee}  I just kept adding to the piles too.  I might have a small crafting-supply-hoarder -disorder.  I have A LOT of stuff.  Anywho, we got it done.  Holla!

Here’s the before and after:

I made some great progress, right?   I really need to figure out what to do with the handy-dandy folding table to the left of the desk.  What can I say?  I like lot of work space!  {giggle}  I’m thinking of just getting another white desk.  What do you think??  Any insights?

And while I didn’t take a before picture of my saving grace — the walk-in closet — I did snap a picture to give you an idea of how much stuff I have.  The closet still needs a little work {like labels on the storage bins, etc.}, but it’s come a long way and allowed me to find a friendly home for all of the crafting goodness I had sitting around.

All done.  Yay!!  Thanks for letting me share my weekend project!
Do you have a room that needs a little TLC?  Be inspired!

Ha! When I got to the before and after picture my first thought was….that is one magic dresser to hold all of that stuff! Then I saw the walk in closet…….sweet! You’ve done a great job! I have 5 sisters and I think I need them all for helping me pull my room back together after my fall frenzy. I’d better get mine together as it also doubles as a guest room and I have my best friend coming from Arizona this weekend! Nothing like a deadline…right?

So jealous that you have a craft room! All of the bedrooms are taken in my house, but I have great dreams of taking over a corner of the office, and redoing my desk to be a functional craft space. You did a great job organizing!

That looks amazing! Great job! I am totally jealous of your walk in craft closet. I like how the folding table is an extension of your desk. I saw on Pinterest that you can take a vinyl table cloth and recover the top of a folding table. That might be a fun way to incorporate it into your room! Then you could paint the legs to match your beautiful desk! Just a thought =)

Yes! That closet would be a life saver. If only.. Ahh… I can dream. I am lucky enough to have an entire room for all my home decor and craft stuff so I can’t complain. I can however, make a bloody mess out of it! LOL. I just cleaned it and still need to fess up to how bad I let it get 😉

Your’s looks great!! I like that your have an office. Mine is strictly storage.
