“I’m sharing how I’m coping with cold and flu season featuring Zep as part of a sponsored post for Socialstars #ZepSocialstars”
I’m usually one of the lucky ones who doesn’t get sick. This year, I wasn’t so lucky. As a matter of fact, it’s been almost a week and I’m still feeling miserable. With a box of tissues to my right, cough drop wrappers sprinkled around my work area and a pile of work that needs my attention, I thought now was a good time to remind you of a few of the basic cold and flu prevention strategies so that you can finish out these cold winter days strong! You can thank me later… {hee-hee}.
My husband got hit with ‘it’ first. I honestly thought I took all the preventative measures; however, for some reason I wasn’t able to beat it off and caught it too. Now I’m trying to prevent anyone else from getting sick and while I traverse this road to recovery. Hallelujah! I mean, whose got time to be sick?
So, let’s finish out the winter in good health, shall we? How? Well, here’s a few pointers!
1) Wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. I was told if you sing the Happy Birthday song while washing your hands, that allow ample time to kill the germs. So, if you ever hear a woman humming Happy Birthday in the bathroom — it might be me. HA!
Keep in mind that you also don’t want to touch your eyes, nose,or face with unwashed hands either. Always wash (or sanitize first).
2) Clean and disinfect commonly used surfaces such as kitchen counters, faucets, door knobs, etc. Zep Quick Clean Disinfectant is great to have on hand for most surfaces. The Antibacterial Disinfectant Cleaner with Lemon is another great product to keep on hand for killing all the yucky germs! Both are available at your local Home Depot!
3) Cover your sneezes and avoid sick people as much as possible. Be considerate of those around you when sneezing nd keep tissues on hand. It may not always be easy (or a choice) to avoid those who aren’t feeling well, but do what you can. I know, some things are so much easier said than done (wink).
Here’s a great Infographic called The Survival of the Fittest: Cold and Flu Season.

We were there on the first day for flu shots. Did we know that the shot didn’t cover all the variants this year? Nope. My SON got it first and was over it quickly. It took me 3 weeks to feel human again. Sympathies.

Thanks so much. I appreciate it. It’s crazy how we are all affected…and how some get hit and others don’t. It seems like the older I get the tougher it is to feel “good” again. Have a wonderful day! HUGS.
