Happy Halloween season, friends! Whether you’re prepping treat bags for the neighborhood kiddos, packaging up baked goodies for friends, or adding a little whimsy to your October décor, these Ghost Tags are an easy (and adorable) addition to your spooky season lineup.

Three finished Halloween tags with cheerful ghost faces, one tied with orange ribbon next to black scissors and a spool of twine.

I mean… just look at those faces! They’re simple, sweet, and totally customizable — a boo-tiful way to bring Halloween cheer without going overboard on the fright factor.

Easy Printable Ghost Tags

If you love a quick and easy DIY, these printable Ghost Tags will be right up your alley. You can print a full sheet of them, cut them out, and have a whole bunch of friendly little ghosts in no time.

Each tag features a classic ghost face, a Happy Halloween greeting, or a simple Boo! — minimal, clean, and oh-so-cute. You can print them on white cardstock for a classic look or try kraft paper for something a little more rustic.

Supplies you’ll need:

  • Printable Ghost Tags (three options, download below)
  • Printer
  • Scissors or a paper trimmer
  • Hole punch
  • String, ribbon, or twine
  • Optional: glitter glue, markers, or washi tape for extra flair

How to Make the DIY Ghost Tags

Once you’ve printed your sheet of tags, grab your scissors — it’s time for the fun part!

Each tag has a dotted line for easy cutting, and you’ll notice a hole guide at the top. You can use a standard hole punch, but if you want a little variation, try a small circle punch for a cuter detail.

Cut-out paper tags shaped like friendly ghosts with different scalloped and wavy bottoms on a light gray background.

Now, the really fun part? You can shape the bottoms however you like! Straight, scalloped, zigzagged — there’s no wrong way to snip your little ghosts.

(I shared a few examples above so you can see how different cuts give each ghost a slightly different personality!)

Creative Ways to Use Ghost Tags

These little Ghost Tags are more versatile than you might think! Here are some of my favorite ideas:

1. Halloween Treat Bags

Attach one to a black or kraft paper bag (like the one pictured!) using orange twine or ribbon. It instantly adds personality to even the simplest goody bag.

2. Boo Basket Labels

If you love to boo your neighbors, use these tags to label your baskets or gift boxes. The simple “boo!” option makes it even more fitting.

3. Party Favors or Classroom Treats

Tie them around candy-filled mason jars, small pumpkins, or individual snack bags for an easy and affordable Halloween touch.

4. Table Settings or Place Cards

Hosting a fall dinner or Halloween get-together? Write names on the front or back of each tag and use them as place cards. Guests will love the playful detail.

5. Gift Wrapping for Any October Occasion

Pair these Ghost Tags with black-and-white wrapping paper or simple brown paper tied with baker’s twine. It’s understated, festive, and totally on trend.

6. DIY Ghost Tag Garland

String your Ghost Tags along a piece of twine using mini clothespins to create a festive garland! Hang it across your mantel, window, or entryway for an easy Halloween decoration that’s cute, simple, and totally reusable. Add in a few extra touches — like tiny pom poms, bats, or paper stars — for extra charm.

Not-So-Spooky Charm

What I love most about these tags is how they keep Halloween lighthearted. Not every October project needs to be covered in cobwebs or dripping with fake blood, right? (Ha!)

These DIY Ghost Tags lean into the cute side of Halloween — perfect for all ages and all levels of craftiness. Whether you’re team “spooky chic” or team “pumpkin spice everything,” these tags fit right in.

They’re especially great for last-minute decorators or busy moms who want something festive without spending hours crafting. Print, cut, and tie — done and done!

Tips for Printing and Using the Ghost Tags

A few helpful notes before you print:

  • Paper matters! Choose a thicker cardstock (around 80–100 lb) so your tags hold up when tied or layered.
  • Printer settings: Be sure to print at 100% (no scaling) to keep tag sizes consistent.
  • Cutting: A paper trimmer gives crisp edges, but scissors are perfectly fine for a handmade look.
  • Ink colors: They’re designed in simple black and white, so no fancy printer is needed.

And don’t forget — if you want to jazz them up, a tiny dab of glitter glue or a little orange ribbon goes a long way!

Optional Finishing Touches

If you’re looking to elevate the look even more, here are a few fun extras:

  • Use vellum paper for a ghostly, semi-transparent vibe.
  • Layer the tag on black cardstock for a framed look.
  • Add a tiny pom pom or googly eyes to make them come alive.
  • For a rustic touch, hang the gift tags with small clothespins and jute twine.

Little details make these ghosts pop — and who doesn’t love a bit of creative play?

Why You’ll Love These Ghost Tags

Here’s the truth — Halloween crafting doesn’t have to be complicated. These Ghost Tags prove that simple can be stunning. They’re easy to personalize, look darling with any color scheme, and add just the right dose of Halloween magic wherever you use them.

Plus, you can whip them up in under 10 minutes — no special tools required. (Just don’t forget to have a little fun with your scissors!)
