Happy November! I’m still not sure where in the world this year has gone. Next month is Christmas (gulp). Okay, okay, let’s not get ahead of ourselves. Today I’m sharing a super fab DIY tutorial and tablescape/table setting — aaand I’ve teamed up with 24 other talented bloggers who are also sharing some projects and place setting ideas!
Pretty great right? I though so {wink}.
I’m sharing these DIY Birch Place Cards Holders
aaaaand a printable place card that you can use!
Let’s take a closer look!
Supplies needed:
Birch Rounds
Vise
Hand Saw
Buy or cut your birch rounds to your size of choice. I cute mine to be approximately 2-1/2″ in diameter and 1/2″ thick. You’ll then want to place each round in a vise or clamp to hold it place when you saw.
Using your handsaw, you’ll be sawing a slit/slice into the birch. Be careful to keep an eye on how deep your cut is. It doesn’t need to be big being that it will be holding a piece of paper or cardstock the size of a business card.
Once you’ve done that, you’re done! Now let’s take a look at my table setting. Here is the birch place card holder with the Give Thanks printable place cards!
I think a centerpiece can be as complicated or as simple as you’d like. Sometimes little is more. I love the simplicity of these gourds placed in a natural wooden bowl I picked up in Vermont a few years ago. Perfectly festive too!
Here is a side view of the birth place card holder.
You can see that I’ve layered each place setting with a placemat, charger and plates.
I’m a sucker for the neutral color palate too. These sets are from Target.
Isn’t the silverware fabulous? It’s a stainless steel with a cooper finish!

Fantastic job, as always! I know it is a simple tablescape, but it looks so complete and put together. I love how you designed the card with the faux bois look to coordinate with the birch. Thanks again for inviting me to join in with all of you! Hope you have an amazing holiday season.
