Bottle Cap Spiders, oh my!
I know I’m not a parent, but I do think these are a perfect kid-friendly craft.
I do not like spiders! Do you? Eeek! That’s what I usually do when I see them. However, these Bottle Cap Spiders are little too cute to resist! Your kiddos are sure to enjoy making these for the upcoming Halloween festivities! Remember my DIY Bottle Cap Magnetic Board tutorial? I don’t know what it is, but I kinda love crafting with bottle caps, they’re super inexpensive (especially if you recycle them) and pretty versatile too! Would you like to join me as I make some of these cuties?
Supplies needed for Bottle Cap Spiders:
Black Bottle Caps
Pipe Cleaners (colors of choice)
Wiggly Eyes (varied sizes)
Hot Glue Gun (high temp)
Wire Cutters (or Scissors)
I mentioned in the supply list that you need black bottle caps. However, feel free to up-cycle beer or soda bottle caps by giving them a quick coat of black spray paint. And if you don’t drink beverages in glass bottles, I bet one of your neighbors do {wink}. I think we’re ready to start putting together some fuzzy goodness! Are you ready?
step one: Gather your supplies if you haven’t already… wiggly eyes, pipe cleaners, wire cutters and glue.
step two: Cut the pipe cleaner into 1-1/2″ pieces. Depending on how many legs you want your spiders to have will determine how much prep work you’ll have to do.
step three: Place the bottle caps face down. Using the glue gun, attach each “leg” into the bottle cap, then manipulate it to bend as legs. This was hard to capture on camera, so I’m hoping you get the idea in my picture. Sorry! (Side note: I recommend using a high temp glue gun, it seems to adhere to the bottle caps much better. Mom and Dad will have to help out with that part).
step four: Now to attach the wiggly eyes. Glue on one, two or more eyes. Note: You could use Elmer glue for this part, you’ll just need some extra drying time. I’m not so good with the waiting {hee-hee}.
I think there are so many different ways to put these together too! Make some orange and purple bottle cap spiders too! They make a super fun addition to a Halloween themed party or tablescape! I don’t know about you, but they kinda make me smile!
Happy crafting, sweet friends!

I love how you made these spiders so super adorable! And, no…I do not like spiders! Especially when one was coming down a spider “string web” down to my eyelashes as I was at the kitchen sink. Just imagine how it’d get caught up in my eyelash extentions!!!
