Earlier this week I scheduled our “target” date for the first of possibly two egg retrievals with Dr. Silber.  After paying the deposit, I can say that this part of our journey is official.  I want you to try to understand and experience as much of this with me as possible, so below are the dates that were given to me in preparation for the big day.  Of course, things could change by a couple of days here and there, it’s all based on when I get my menstrual cycle and how easily my ovaries respond to the stimulation.

It all starts with birth control pills and a baseline ulstrasound.  As to when these take place is to be determined. However, on 5/8/10 the birth control is scheduled to end.  I don’t foresee being on it all that long and hope my experience this time around with birth control will be better than my first.  That was dreadful.

Stim Start Monitoring:             5/14/10
Clomid 50 mg begins:              5/14/10
Follistim 150 iu (eod) begins:   5/16/10
Monitoring begins:                  5/18/10
“Target” Egg Retrival:              5/25/10

Kristine and I booked a birthday getaway in May to Las Vegas.  A sister-birthday-getaway.  Unfortunately, I’ll have to start my meds there.  The doctors office didn’t foresee any problems with that.  I would have had to start monitoring on my birthday (5/17), but because I’ll still be in Vegas — we’ll start monitoring on the 18th.  So, there you have it.  A brief snapshot of what’s to come.  Like I said, some things might change a bit here and there — but I will do my best to keep all of you posted.  All I ask is that you PRAY HARD!  I’m trying to prepare myself for the effects this will have on me emotionally and physically, but I’m afraid that’s impossible.  So, Steve and I are standing firm on God’s promises.  Matthew 17:20 says, “I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”

“Move from here fear, doubt and worry! You’re not welcome.”

keep living and laughing, friends.
