November has a way of reminding us that the year is winding down, doesn’t it? I’m trying to soak up these next few weeks before the holiday hustle and bustle takes over. I hope you are able to
Miscellany:
1. Beach Days & Slow Mornings 🌊
Well, I’m officially back from a week at the beach, and goodness, it was wonderful! We spent the week in Fort Morgan, Alabama, with three adults, three dogs, and a beautiful pet-friendly beach just ten steps from our door. TEN STEPS! We watched the sun rise from our porch, caught gorgeous sunsets from the beach, and enjoyed an entire week of doing a whole lot of nothing. No schedules, no rushing, and nowhere we needed to be. Just salty air, sandy paws, and some much-needed relaxation. It was exactly the kind of getaway I didn’t realize how much I needed. I’m already missing those slow mornings and the sound of the waves.

2. Lost in a Good Book 📚
While we were away, I managed to finish two books: The People We Keep by Allison Larkin and Ugly Love by Colleen Hoover. That officially brings my total to 19 books read this year! And I have to say, I’m pretty darn proud of myself.
I’ve always loved reading, but somewhere along the way, I stopped making time for it. Life gets busy, the to-do lists never end, and it’s easy to put something you enjoy on the back burner. This year, though, I’ve rediscovered just how much I love getting lost in a good story. Reading has become a little escape from the everyday noise, a way to unwind, and something I genuinely look forward to. My only regret? Not making more time for it over the years. But hey, better late than never, right?
3. A Little Sweet & Salty
Earlier this week, I shared a recipe for Rolo Pretzel Pecan Bites, and they’re one of those ridiculously easy treats that never disappoint. A little salty, a little sweet, with gooey caramel, chocolate, and a crunchy pecan on top. What’s not to love? They require just three ingredients and a few minutes in the oven, making them perfect for holiday gatherings, cookie trays, homemade gifts, or simply keeping a little something sweet around the house. Nothing fancy or reinvented here, just a tried-and-true treat that’s always a hit!
4. A Little Grace Goes a Long Way ❤️
I don’t typically talk about politics around here, and I don’t plan on starting now. But with the midterm elections behind us, I know there are plenty of people feeling all sorts of emotions about the results. Some are celebrating, others are disappointed, and some are just ready for a break from it all.
Regardless of where we stand, I hope we can remember that kindness, compassion, and respect still matter. We don’t have to agree on everything to treat one another with grace. At the end of the day, we’re all navigating this life together, and a little understanding can go a long way. Here’s to choosing kindness, protecting our peace, and remembering that there’s still plenty of good in the world.
5. Anyone Else Exhausted? ⏰
Can we talk about Daylight Saving Time for a minute? Because, seriously, is it kicking anyone else’s butt? Between coming home from a week away and turning the clocks back, I swear I spent two full days having what felt like an out-of-body experience. HA! I couldn’t figure out what day it was, what time it was, or why I was ready for bed before dinner.
And don’t even get me started on how early it gets dark now. I know we technically gained an hour, but someone needs to explain why I feel like I’ve lost an entire week! Please tell me I’m not alone in this.
6. Amber Glass is Making a Comeback.
Remember those honey-colored glasses and vases from the 1970s? Amber glass is enjoying a revival, bringing warmth and vintage character to modern homes.
7. Gratitude Dice Game for Thanksgiving.
A little something from the archives for Thanksgiving — this Gratitude Dice Game is such a simple way to get everyone talking about what they’re thankful for.”

One Last Hoorah:
I saw a meme on Instagram the other day and got such a good chuckle out of it that I had to recreate it and share it here. Because, seriously, WHY IS THIS SO ACCURATE? HA! I don’t care if caller ID exists or if you can see my number right there on your screen. I’m still going to say it twice, and yes, a little slower the second time.
Some habits just stick with you! I guess growing up in the 1900s has officially become a personality trait. Please tell me I’m not the only one who still does this. 😂
