Oh, happy day from my happy place (home) to yours!
Miscellany:
1. There’s just something about a country drive at sunset—the quiet roads, wide-open skies, and unexpected little treasures along the way. This old, weathered building caught my eye as the evening sky softened into shades of pink and gold behind it. I couldn’t help but wonder about its story—what it once was, who passed through its doors, and how many sunsets it has watched come and go. Sometimes the best moments are found when you slow down, take the long way home, and notice what’s been standing there all along.
2. It was a crazy week around here… work, appointments, lunch engagement and sick dogs. Occasionally I give the dogs chew bones to keep them ‘busy.’ However, this time they didn’t seem to settle or digest well. Days of vomiting. First, it was Nash (which was worse), then it was Bentley. We finally seemed to round the bend on Tuesday, and we seem to be smooth sailing now. Lessons learned, huh?
3. Have any of you been watching the FIFA World Cup? My husband watches a lot of the English premiere leagues. So, it’s safe to say we’ve had a lot of the games on. As final game approaches, I’ll be rooting for Argentina.
If I’m being honest, I’ve been rooting for Argentina since the USA lost. I remember going on a missions trip there when I was 16. Kids kicking soccer balls EVERYWHERE.
Anywho, goooo Argentina. We’ll be tuning in on Sunday…. and later today to see whether France or England will be taking third place. Steve has been cheering England on.
4. I shared a Christmas in July post this week. I had some hesitations but fell in love with the concept — maybe you’ll enjoy it too!
5. My sister re-opened her Etsy shop, Nanticoke Lane! She’s decided to stick with stickers for the time being and she has so many cute ones. Her tagline is, Adding a little happy, one sticker at a time. Isn’t that great? So excited for her…
6. Did you know that a group of fireflies is called a SPARKLE? Omg. That made me smile so big. ❤️❤️
7. What I’m watching or what I’ve watched.
- Author the King (Peacock): As a dog lover, this adventure film was incredible. Dogs are amazing creatures. This movie is from 2024, and I don’t recall hearing about it at that time, but I’m so glad my sister mentioned it to me.
- Reminders of Him (Peacock): You might recall I read this book by Colleen Hoover recently. I had my eye on this movie when it was in theatres but knew I would wait to see it when it released on streaming services. I found the movie stayed close to the book — and I really enjoyed it.
- Married at First Sight (Peacock): MAFS is back for Season 20. Woop woop. If you know me or have been a reader for a while you know how much I love this show. So much drama… I love it! Bring it on. Woo!
8. Did you hear about the grandfather who was tossed by a bison at Yellowstone this week? Wowzer. The whole thing was absolute crazy town.
I was watching a news segment about it, and wildlife expert (Forrest Galante) joined the conversation to explain what had happened. At one point, the newscaster asked Forrest whether he’d rather be attacked by a bison or a bear. (Great question, right? lol)
His answer? A bison.
Apparently, bison aren’t necessarily trying to kill you—they’re just trying to send a very clear message. Yikes.
He then shared this little wildlife reminder regarding bears:
If it’s brown, lay down.
If it’s black, fight back.
If it’s white, say goodnight.
Gulp. Never heard this before… but the more you know, right?

One Last Hoorah:
A few weeks ago, I shared a funny little goose sticker that said, “I am beauty. I am grace. I will honk in your face.” It made me laugh then, and apparently it stayed with me because I ended up creating my own playful version of it. There’s just something about the combination of soft colors, a sweet little goose, and an unexpectedly sassy message that feels delightfully ridiculous—and I love it.
