As you might have discovered, I love layering when decorating — especially seasonally. In my Fall Decorating Inspired by Pottery Barn post, I shared how I layered grapevine wreaths and other natural elements to create quite the masterpiece {giggle}. This year I shared DIY Fall Decor with Hanging Mason Jars. I love how easy these decorative pieces are and I thought I would share another with you today: Cork Vase Filler. I originally shared this idea over at ForRent.com.
You can either buy some corks — or you can easily recycle those from the bottles of wines you’ve consumed (oooor ask your friends and neighbors for some of theirs. wink-wink). If you’re like me, you might even have an oversized (aka gigantic) martini glass FULL of them. In my mind, you just never know what you might need a cork or two for, right? Duh! {giggle} So, recently I gave them a try as vase filler around one of my candles. I loved it! I love the neutral colors and how they’re versatile enough to fit into almost any space. What do you think?
Simply place your candle in your glass vas, jar or container and add your corks — filling 1/4-1/2 way up, whatever your preference might be.
Don’t you just love a simple project?
You know, the ones that take all of 10 minutes?
Yes, Yes I do! Happy creating, friends.
