Do you love breakfast food? Eggs. Bacon. Pancakes. Hash-browns. I {love} breakfast food! Paired with a cup of coffee or a large glass of orange juice and I am one happy camper. Are you getting hungry? {hee-hee}.
Today, I’m sharing a moist and fluffy Homemade Italian Sweet Crème Pancakes. My original plan was to try this recipe with the new Extra Sweet & Creamy Coffee-mate creamer; however, it hasn’t reached my market yet. So, I used the Italian Crème and it was delicious! Let’s take a trip to the kitchen and get these started.
Homemade Italian Sweet Crème Pancakes
Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour (spooned and leveled)
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup skim milk
- 3/4 cup Italian Sweet Crème Coffee-mate creamer
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter melted
- 1 large egg
- Butter and Syrup or toppings of choice
Instructions
- In a small bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt; set aside.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together milk, creamer, butter, and egg.
- Add dry ingredients to milk mixture; whisk until just moistened (do not overmix; a few small lumps are fine).
- Heat a large nonstick skillet or griddle over medium. Grease if necessary.
- For each pancake, measure 1/8 to a 1/4 cup batter onto skillet, spreading batter into circle.
- Cook until surface of pancakes have some bubbles and a few pop, approximately 1-2 minutes. Flip carefully with a spatula, and cook until browned on the underside, 1 to 2 minutes more. Transfer to a plate; cover loosely with aluminum foil, and keep warm in oven.
- Continue with more oil and remaining batter. (You'll have 10-12 pancakes.)
- Serve warm, with desired toppings.
Have you ever substituted coffee-creamer for milk in a recipe? It’s a fantastic option and might require a little experimentation. However, it truly adds a burst of flavor. It looks SO good! Just a question, are you able to use different coffee creamers? I definitely want to try!
Kelly Rowe says
Hi Mikaela! You can certainly use any flavors. This one was very sweet, so I omitted sugar from the recipe — be sure to keep that in mind if you use a creamer that may not be as sweet. Let me know how it goes 🙂 Hugs!
Mary says
Did you forget to mention sugar in the ingredient list?
Kelly Rowe says
Hi Mary! No, I sure didn’t. After much experimentation, I omitted the sugar due to the sweetness of the creamer 🙂
Mary says
ahh, I was confused because it mentions sugar in the directions but not the ingredients, hence my original question
Kelly Rowe says
Oops! Thanks so much for catching that. Correction has been made 😉 Hugs.
