This post is a wee-bit overdue, I know… {face palm}.  How many of you remember the fabulous DIY Rustic Wood Bench I shared back in July?  That project truly made my heart sing and I even got a Facebook shout-out from Ana White herself.  I was flattered to say the least.

In that post, I mentioned that we planned to make another bench in pine. If you remember that, you just got yourself some serious brownie points.  Anwyho, things have been crazy insane around here, and I searched high and low for the pause button on life and, well, it’s nowhere to be found. Sigh.  The good news is that I finally finished the pine bench, gave her a coat of white Annie Sloan paint, sanded her down, added a little brown paint to the edges and voila!

White Rustic Wood Bench painted white with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint at livelaughrowe.comI knew I wanted to paint the bench white and put in our master bedroom.  I was inspired by the white bench pictured (see below) in The Handbuilt Home (by Anna White).  Those ladies of Shanty 2 Chic are super talented.

Rustic Bench Tutorial from Handbuilt HomeBedrooms always seem to be the least on our priority lists.  We have nice furniture, but as you can see — I haven’t done a whole lot with the ‘design’ elements per say.  We used to have a black faux leather bench at the end of the bed.  I sold it in our yard sale this past summer, knowing this bench would be the replacement.  Thank God!  I found it to be too dark and a bit of an eyesore.  This bench brings a lighter color into the space and it’s not such a formal piece.  What do you think?

White Rustic Bench | livelaughrowe.com Closer look at Rustic White Bench | livelaughrowe.comI’m hoping to put a wax finish on her soon, but I have to prioritize a few things and that doesn’t even come close to the top of the list {hee-hee}.  We have some other furniture projects in the planning…  no promises, but eventually.  I also want to give another quick shout-out to our friends at Ryobi tools, we couldn’t have made these benches without the tools you so graciously donated.  Thanks again!

I hope you’re feeling inspired to create, sweet friends!  Cheers.
