Weekend Wrap Up Collage
My husband (Steve) and I took a mini-mini getaway this past weekend.  From our departure to our return, the following ten things took place {and a whole lot of other fun}.
1) Road Trip to Branson, MO.  I always enjoy road trips with my hubby.  In route too Branson, I didn’t sleep one bit… that has to be a record for me.  I browsed through my 100 Days to Christmas binder and we both started to think/talk about our Christmas lists.  Yay!!
2) Seeing good friends.  My college buddy, Mary, and her husband (Lee) drove down to the Branson Landing to meet us for dinner.  It’s always nice to catch up with good friends.  We laughed and laughed.  My cheeks and jaw hurt by the end of the night.  On a side note, Mary and Lee are approaching their one year wedding anniversary next month.  YAY!!  Click here to see a few of their wedding pics.  That first year seems to fly right by.  Anywho…
3) Famous Dave’s BBQ — that’s where we dined and kicked off the nights events.  Yummy chicken, ribs, mashed potatoes, corn on the cob, broccoli, corn bread muffins that melt in your mouth — and — a very full stomach {smile}.  One of my hubbys favorite places and we don’t have one in St. Louis, so it was a nice treat.
4) Starbucks.  I was so disappointed to see that the Starbucks on Hwy 76 had closed, but was thrilled to hear there was one across from The Branson Landing.  Holla!  After dinner, we all headed that way to talk and laugh some more over coffee — a pumpkin spice latte was my drink of choice {of course}.  It was a perfect night to sit on the patio and enjoy the cool night.  Someone even started smoking a pipe nearby, I {heart} the smell of pipe.
5) We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express.  We used some of our Priority Points to keep our costs down.  My favorite part of staying at the HI Express is their cinnamon buns for breakfast.  Yumm-oh!  I got a wee-bit addicted to them when I traveled for work.  My mouth was drooling for those cinnamon buns from the moment my feet hit the floor that morning.   The breakfast area was PACKED and loud, with one poor employee holding down the fort.  All I wanted was my cinnamon buns — I get them on my plate, grab a cup of coffee and take a seat.  oh.my.goodness.  The excitement was overwhelming.  Then I discover their still cold, partially frozen.  This can’t be.  I went up to try another.  Same deal.  I was {seriously} disgusted.  However, all was not lost — we had a microwave in our room.  Phew!  I was eventually able to enjoy my cinnamon buns hot-hot-hot. Woo hoo!!  Yay!
6) Outlet Shopping.  Oh the bless-ed Tanger Outlets…  GAP, American Eagle, Esprit, Coach, and the list goes on and on!  We found a few great buys.  I got an Esprit scarf (see pic above) for $4.99.  Not bad, right?
7) Cracker Barrel.  I {heart} Cracker Barrel.  This was a no brainer for us when we found there was one on the main strip.  Fast, delish and convenient.
8) Sight & Sound Theater production of Noah.  Awe to the some!  It was a great show (minus the restless little girl sitting next to me).  We saw Joseph in Lancaster, PA in 2010.  If you ever get a chance to see one of their productions, you will not be disappointed.  Actually, this show was the reason for this trip.  Noah is in its last season in Branson and I really wanted to see it before it was over.  So glad we did!!
9) Andy’s Frozen Custard — specifically, the peanut butter sundae.  Have you noticed all the food/eating that was done on this trip?  {HA!} Andy’s was a hot spot when I lived in Springfield, MO and is a ‘must-stop-location’ upon all visits to the area (or even if we’re passing through). Scrumpdillyicious!!!
10) Getting Home Sweet Home to see my furry, four legged kiddos –and– to find that my Mini Moo Cards had arrived {eeeek!}  I was so excited!!!  They look fantastic and cost me all of $5.00

Great weekend.  Great memories.  Thanks for stopping by!
