Have you seen the Vecco ads all over blog-o-sphere?
They’re the fabulous company that lets you paint your own rug.

What is Vecco? “Vecco is a painting technique for creating rugs and carpets inspired by you. With stencils, colorant sprays and sealants, make custom designs that’ll tie any room together.”  Is your interest peaked yet?  After browsing through their rug kits, I chose the one. two. tree rug kit.

Receiving it was like finding a welcome wagon at the front door.

Today, I’m going to share with you my Vecco Welcome Rug project.
I had fun and found it to be a super easy DIY project. Ready?

Vecco has three easy steps.
Stencil

Spray

Seal

Step One. Unpack the box.  Grab one set of stencils and your paint/color.

Step Two.  After you’ve determined how you want to stencil your design.
Place your stencil and spray.  Repeat until rug is complete.

Now you might be asking yourself, what if you make a mistake?  No worries!  All you need to do is let the paint/color set, vacuum the color and start again before you seal. Yep, I made a boo-boo, so I can attest that this works!  It’s crazy cool!  The design is not set in stone until you use the sealant.  Pretty neat, right?  You can design your rug as many times as you like until it’s just right (or you run out of paint, so be careful there).

Step Three.  After waiting out the 48 hours, you will now seal your design.
You’ll gather up your sealant and second set of stencils.

If you look closely, you can see the sealant on top of the design.
This helps you know that you’ve covered the design entirely.
It dries clear — so no worries!  You really can’t mess this step up.
Again, let it dry for 48 hours — and you’re done.

What do you think?  Isn’t it fabulous?  Well, guess what?
Vecco is giving one of  YOU a Welcome Kit!
A Value of $50. {Enter Giveaway}.

This looks great! Last year a friend and I tried rug painting with all the wrong paints. After we’d perfected our design, we wanted to blend the colors with water, and the hose washed everything away. Sound like a major “duh” moment now, but thankfully you show us how to do it right!
