We all have our summer faves…  sunglasses, sunscreen, flip flops and shorts!  One of my must-haves is Iced Coffee.  I drink a lot of it in the summer and I enjoy making it myself too.  How about you?  Do you enjoy an ice cold beverage during the warm summer months?  Today I’m teaming up with Seattle’s Best Coffee to not only share a fabulous Ice Coffee Recipe, but to give you something to start your summer off on the right caffeinated foot {giggle}.  First things first — let’s talk about making Iced Coffee.

Iced Coffee with livelaughrowe.comI’ve always made my iced coffee with a coffee press; however, I received the single cup Melitta coffee brewer and gave it a try.  It’s pretty fabulous for making a single cup of coffee and iced coffee concentrate.

  • 1-1/2 cups ground coffee

Instructions

  • Add 1 cup cold water to grounds, stir gently.
  • Slowly add remaining 1-1/2 cups cold water, agitating the ground as little as possible.
  • Cover, steep at room temperature for 12 hours.
  • Strain the coffee grounds through a filter.
  • Store concentrate up to 2 weeks.

For serving, it’s suggested that you add 1 part coffee concentrate to 3 parts water over ice.  However, I like my iced coffee a little stronger than that, so you’ll want to experiment to ensure that you mix both parts to meet your needs.  I add 1/2 cup of concentrate to 1-1/4 cups of water over ice.  It was smooth and perfect!  I drink mine black — no milk or sugar.  It was awe-some!

Whether you like your coffee hot or cold — how would you like to win some goodies that will make your taste buds do a happy dance?  A few of the items are pictured here; however, a complete list can be seen below.  Valued at over $60

I love coffee year-round. I brew a pot in the morning and drink it hot. In the afternoon, I pour it over ice. I save the sugary iced coffee drinks for a rare treat.
