All is well.  I seem to be doing fine on the birth control, no reactions so far.  I’ll weigh myself on Friday to see if I’ve gained weight — I think that’s one of my biggest concerns.  LOL.  I had my baseline ultrasound done on Friday morning.  Of course, the tech wasn’t able to disclose much information; however, she did say that things looked fine.  PTL!!

I met with my gynecologist (Dr. Micheal DeRosa) yesterday, who will be assisting Dr. Silber throughout this process.  He gave us the necessary risk factor speech regarding the egg retrieval, which I could have done without — but I know they have to do it.  He ended our meeting on a very positive note stating that after 16 years of doing this procedure he has not had any of the risks/accidents happen.  Goooo Dr. DeRosa (whom, I might add was born and raised in Wayne, NJ).

Actually, let me take a quick detour here.  I can’t resist sharing this.  Upon moving to St. Louis in December of 2007, I asked a fellow recruiter if she could recommend a good gynecologist to me.  I am a firm believer in referrals/recommendations.  She recommended Dr. Michael DeRosa and warned me of his strong personality, but I wasn’t too concerned.  During my first appointment we somehow started to talk about the east coast and before we knew it — we discovered the commonality of Wayne, NJ.  Crazy…  which also explains the ‘strong personality’ my girlfriend warned me about.  Smile.  Anyways, last year when we started to test for fertility concerns, Dr. DeRosa recommended us to consult with Dr. Sherman Silber.  Little did I know that Dr. Silber and Dr. DeRosa partnered together on the IVF.  I can’t help but think that all of this has been truly God orchestrated!

That’s all she wrote.  God is good…

keep living and laughing, friends.
